That G4 issue is a real mess, isn't it? Still, the soldiers are filling the spots, and it seems as if those who are really on the line aren't too concerned. Between this and all the banking scandals, it will be nice to have the distraction of the games!

Got an email about my football tickets last week. It says I should check the weather and come prepared. So, this is the UK. I should take a waterproof, suncream, a woolly hat, sunglasses, a thick jumper, a sunhat, gloves and a scarf. Oh, and I should try not to bring a bag at all. Really.

Haha nice advice! Is that because they haven't got enough security on to check bags without making everyone late in to watch the game?! Or because they want to make sure you don't bring drinks and food so they can flog you some CocaCola and McDonalds?!

Apparently if I bring a bag then I may be delayed and miss my event. It also says I'll have to turn out my pockets. It's sounding more and more like I've paid money to go along of my own volition and be held at her majesty's pleasure for a few hours. Twice!

And I bet with the poor last minute security training, one of them will have misheard that part of the admittance routine and will be asking people to 'count out their lockets' or something - there'll be a massive queue forming behind because no one knows what to do!

Oooh and now we've got Home Office staff (including Border Agency staff) planning to strike on the day before the games start, and with potential rail strikes during the Olympics too, we'll make sure everyone going is at least slightly inconvenienced?!

It feels like I'm in France with all these summer strikes!
