The piggy cam is great. I can watch from any computer anywhere in the house. I'm happy to say after a couple of days of watching the pigs remotely quite a lot, I haven't seen any sign of any problems. Seems they act out more when I am in the room than when I am not, hmmm!

I have returned the pigloos to the cage. Mine have back doors cut in them, so they are houses, mazes, turtle shells, etc. The pigs are having great fun with them.
I'm also changing their tunnel toy configuration pretty much daily to keep them interested in that and not picking on each other. Seems to be working!!!
I will post some pics of the cage with the Plexiglas front panels. It is great to be able to see the pigs so well!

I was considering the sows at the rescue as friends for Momo, if I couldn't get the herd back together. Since I did get the herd back together, I don't need more pigs. So far so good with the herd being together, so when we move them to the basement, they can be in one cage. I have been watching them on Piggy Cam, and there are face-offs, chases, etc., but no squealing and wheeking, no Mia acting bullied, etc. In fact, Mia was popcorning all over the cage yesterday. A lot seems to have changed since the last time they were together.

Re: Coppola Piggles - !!U-Haul Pad Update!! « Reply #1985 on Jan 10, 2012, 12:23pm »
I have now been using the two sets of fleece/U-haul blanket pads for a couple of months, and I have found that the U-haul blankets shrink at a different rate from the fleece. Fleece and both blankets were washed twice in super hot water and dried on medium-high heat twice, then washed on super hot water and dried on medium heat twice once they were sewn together as cage pads.
After the first two cleaning cycles as cage pads, the U-haul blankets shrank as much as 3-4 inches in width and length. The fleece was folding over the edges of the blankets, which although extra fabric was left to make the pads a bit big for the cage, were now too small for the cage.
I have now washed all the cage pads in warm water with a cold rinse, then pulled the pads to stretch them to the size of the fleece, again. I dried the pads on low heat for an extended period, and they seem to be pretty much back to normal.
I used the super hot water to make sure the pads were sanitized. Now I'm adding a couple of drops of Lysol/Detol to the wash instead.

Because it was very hard to see through the front grids with the piggy cam, we replaced the grids with Plexiglas, and put plastic sleeves over the top edge in case any delicate piggy feet got that high. Now we have a cage with a view.
I have also returned the pigloos to Pigloo City. Each one has a back door cut in it, so the pigs can stay inside or pass through. Mia runs laps around the cage that include going though all the pigloos, then turning around and doing it again. I haven't seen the others do it, but Morty and Momo used to run laps in the cage before it was separated.
The pigs and I have been trying lots of different configurations of plastic tunnels sold as Ferret Funnels when I bought them. The connecting pieces come in straight, T and elbow pieces. We tried a lot of combinations, and settled on this one, which is all connected elbow pieces.

I love the plexiglass idea - so much easier to see the pigs. I'm sure it's especially helpful with the piggy cam. Looks like the pigs have some fun things to do in the cage. I'm so happy for you that everyone is in one cage and getting along!

Because my cage is 11 feet long and I only have a point/click camera, I can't get the whole cage in one picture with any detail. So I did a few pictures to give the idea of the cage with the Plexiglas front. I was about 12 feet away using the telephoto lens.
I gave them the last two carrots in their bag, more for fun than food. They ate at them and played with them until the carrots fell apart, then lost interest.
Always looking for a good way to clean inside the water bottles, I found this hummingbird feeder brush at the hardware store. I'll try it and report on it later.

I bet the pigs have a great time running laps in the cage. I like the picture of them checking out the carrots. Good idea for the hummingbird feeder brush, let us know if it works well.

The hummingbird feeder cleaning brush did a great job on the water bottles. Because it's made of small lengths of sponge, it easily got under the top of the bottle with enough strength the remove the slime. It's long enough to easily reach to the bottom of a regular bottle, though I haven't dug out my old huge bottle to see how well it reaches the bottom of that size. Finally, a brush that really cleans the inside of the water bottles!!!
