Ok, sorry for the rubbish pictures. My sister took them. :? These are day three pictures. Mum and I are already speculating over the sexes. Bronte is keeping them nice and warm, and with nice little milk bands. We've guessed that the little one who keeps wandering is a girl. mum's fallen for 'her' already. Harper is missing her sister, so she was very happy to see her this morning. No pictures of them though.

It always amazes me how quickly they go from looking like little thumbs to little ratties. Cute, but I do like them better when they have their fur!

I don't think I had any concept of what baby rats looked like - but I'm sure I never imagined they'd look like that! How long until they get fur?

They start to get fuzzy after about a week, and they go all seal-y and silky...about 12 days and they look like 'proper' rats; I can't remember off the top of my head when the ears 'pop' but it's so cute when they do! They will be showing pigmentation now, but 'cos practically the entire family are champagnes(what the girls, and Dodger are) it isn't really noticeable, so I can't really tell what markings they have. You would on a darker baby though.
Day 4 pictures coming, as soon as mummy comes out for breakfast!

Sorry I haven't updated; I no longer have access to a camera, and what's a post without pictures??
The babies are a week old today, and are just at the silky/sealy stage! So soft! We now think it's three boys and two girls. Markings are just becoming visible; if they were a darker colour, we would have already been able to tell. Dey are so widdle and cuuute!
The sister I have, Harper, is still keeping me guessing. It'll be three weeks clear come this Friday, and she still isn't showing. But, her nipples are swollen. My mum keeps saying it's a phantom pregnancy, but I suspect that's wishful thinking lol. Maybe a really really tiny litter?
One of the other girls, Molly(not one of mine), the mum to the two(now 3.5) week old babies, had her babies today.

I have enjoyed looking at your cat and rat photos! I'll have to show my son your rat pics as he loves rats and is itching to have them for a pet. He would be in heaven surrounded by all those furry faces and long tails!
Sorry to hear about Rilian x

When I was in 5th grade my dad wouldn't let me get my ears pierced...so I wore little stickers on my ear lobes. Then one day mom took me to get my ears pierced...i passed out - lol - but dad dint notice because I had been wearing stickers. It was all good until about 3 months later on a family road trip my brother accidentally pulled my earring out and it started to bleed... Long story short; start with a plushy...then swap it with a real pig! maybe he wont notice.

Oh wow! I haven't updated here? Bad me! Well...you'll be pleased(and possibly surprised) to hear I have no deaths to update...you won't be surprised to hear there is an addition! Well, sort of; the neighbors seem to have left their pregnant kitten behind when they left for their holiday; and she's moved in here. :s I don't know what's happening with her; my parents seem reluctant to call the spca(understandably, since they would most likely be pts) but seriously. We have six already...surely there must be a limit somewhere? Also, the babies are all grown up now.*sniffs* the boys are bigger than their mum and aunt now; the baby girls are about the same size as them. Er, well. Yes. Uh, that does mean they are all still here....well, there are/were a lot to rehome, y'know! Suitable homes just never came up! Technically, the four girls are still fosters. Technically. Yeah, ok, so I'm a total failure at fostering! I'll hunt through photobucket and find some oldish pics of them; I know I have them, but I don't seem to have posted them here. Anyway, all is well with everyone; but Chucky and Cody however...are really really showing their ages...Chucky is seventeen, and Cody 13. Really don't know how much longer either of them have left... Also, Dodger is being a total pain; he is slightly hormonal, and has a tendency to bite. A neuter should fix that; however, my savings for it isn't going to well...other things keep coming up. *sigh* I have a few lovely scars on my fingers now..but, most of the time he's lovely! And at least he isn't aggressive with the others. What I really came here to post was this; a manip I made of an old pic of my three lovely goots. It's pretty much accepted that agouti's are the crazy ones of the rat world; if there's a troublemaker, it's probably the goot. If some major damage appears; it was probably the goot. ;P So, I did this to show that gooti's can be constructive, too! Yes, I know I said three....I decided Bryn(nose at the bottom) looked a little left out, so I cut him out of another pic and added it up the top; he's the hooded one. I know it isn't very good, but I like it.
