I'm sure the mental image is icky but Lucky fell onto the floor yesterday and when I went to cuddle and comfort him I saw his scrotum was swollen. Should I take him to the vet? Has anyone got experience with this?

Yes, take him to the vet. Even if the vet decides nothing is wrong, Lucky may welcome a bit of pain relief. The vet will know. Poor baby. I hope he's okay. You much have been scared silly. I had a jumper, once, and was always amazed when his stupid stunts didn't result in any injuries.

I'd take him to the vet but i can't book an appointment 'til next week and if I go to Emergency services for pets it costs $150 just to pay for the office visit! I don't have that much money! Lucky isn't displaying any pain but I'm so worried!

There isn't a vet who can see him tomorrow? They usually have some appointment periods set aside for emergencies. I hope it's nothing serious, but I would keep an eye on him, anyway.

Let's hope the swelling goes down by then too. Let's even hope it's gone by then.

As long as he isn't in any pain or discomfort from it, it's probably just bruising. I hope the swelling goes away soon, and he doesn't need a vet visit.

Thankfully I spoke on the 'phone to a vet and he said check for bloody urine or stool (there is none) and the swelling has already gone down *sigh of relief*

Good to hear. from my experience calling the vets ( i always call in for emergency visit) they say their booked but if you sound really scared for your piggie they will fit you in, you just usually have to wait a little longer but its worth it.
