Stunning, a definite competition winner. Thanks for sharing Baz love, where was it taken, please? Many thanks, Jo! It was taken not far from my house on the way to work, maybe a week or two ago. I love how the sunbeams lance through the clouds. You can just glimpse the city skyline coming up, too.

This is the kind of sky I've been looking at for the last week or so! (There were parakeets nesting in these trees, which made for hours of entertaining viewing!) And it's a terribly framed picture, but here's a quick walking along snap of a lovely sunset.

A big cockroach in our bedroom! I think it'd just climbed in through an open window, and I was able to catch and release it outside (my husband found it, but told me about it and then promptly disappeared off to the bathroom for quarter of an hour!). But not much aside from that.
My favourite insects were the cicadas - I can't believe how something so tiny can make such a massive noise! We visited a waterpark one day and the queues for the rides were rather long, so spotting the cicadas we could hear along the way kept us entertained!

Beautiful skies, Bean! Glad you got some pictures of them! The lines are what turned me off to most parks of any kind. Disney World is the capital of long lines, and of nothing to do while waiting in line. It would be okay if they gave out colored or number tickets, and we could all wait at the nearest restaurant until our number or color was called, but no, we wait in those serpentine lines created by ropes through bollards. Can't do that any longer. I would love to see the parrots I love birds, especially in their natural habitats

Quality's a little low on this one (my camera phone is no match for my real camera) but it's another sunrise!

Oh bless him, I will have to look up cockroaches in Spain and see which w#one he was. Thank you so much for putting him out of the window and I had to chuckle about Vic doing a disappearing act lol! Cicadas are really cute and yes, they have very powerful voices on them. A gorgeous photo Baz love, thank you for sharing.

Pretty, Baz! We were lucky that there weren't many troublesome insects while we were there - no mozzies biting us or indoor infestations of anything! I don't know how I'd have coped if there had been numerous cockroaches inside, but one alone was very interesting! 3piggles, I rarely get it as I'm a bit of a fidgeter (always getting up and down), but like many people over 40, I find that if I stand in one position for a long time, my back seizes up (I only find out when I go to move and it spasms!). I was standing in the queues trying to sway around and shift from side to side, just to stop it happening. Probably looked like a right weirdo! Here are some of the parakeets - they were fascinating and very noisy little things!

Aw! Love the parakeets! I can totally skip the cockroaches, though if possible, I would usher them back outside, too. I've lived where we had silverfish invasions, but not cockroaches. That would totally gross me out! Love the sunrise, Baz. I love sunrises and sunsets. They are pictures it's impossible to paint realistically

They are so cute Bean hunni, thank you for sharing. What lovely little faces. They are very similar to budgies and having had those in the past I can agree, they are very noisy indeed.

It was great that we happened to camp under their nest (we didn't realise when we chose the spot) as I wanted the kids to stay out of the sun for the hottest hour or so at lunchtime and watching these little birds did the trick of keeping us all rooted to the spot despite all the exciting slides around!
Jo, the squawking was almost constant (there were a fair few in the nest) but every now and then silence would suddenly descend for a minute or two and we really wanted to know what had hushed them up as it was definitely coordinated but didn't seem to relate to anything being brought in or them being busy nest-building!
We used to get silverfish in a flat we lived in, just in the bathroom. They're fascinating looking things but I'd sooner not have them in my house!

I think if one gets spooked about something Bean love they all do and go quiet. I remember one budgie being deafening, so I can imagine what a flock of parakeets can sound like lol! I am really not sure what a silverfish is although I know the look of them. I wonder which family they come from. I will have to google them.

I lived in one of the older dorms in college, and we had regular silver fish infestations. I did find that hair spray and aerosol deodorant kill them, lol We had some at our last house, the condo, too, and used regular silver fish killer to keep them under control. They seemed to be around when we had a lot of rain. We also had paper wasps at the condo. Turned out the whole attic ceiling was full of them. They were eating the insulation. What a mess! That's the problem with condo and apartment living. The inside of the condo belonged to us, but the problems came from the outside, which belonged to the association, who weren't about to help us pay for something they could fob off on us because it manifest itself inside.

Oh dear, wasps, I wouldn't like those in my loft/attic! I love most animals but stop at these and ants. Surely the Association wouldn't leave wasps nests and not get someone in to remove it. I would be especially worried about children and animals being around.
