Me too! He's going back to the vet later this week to keep a check up on his eye. I will keep you all informed. New pictures on the way soon.

Cute pigture. They look so sweet. I hope Brillo's eye clears up quickly.
Pigs use the voices and their bodies to talk, so watch and listen. They will use similar to sounds to mean different things depending on their body language, but some sounds, like coos and chirps, will always be happy sounds.

Well after giving him his eye drops this morning, Brillo was abit shakey. But hes getting alot better! His eye looks so much better than yesterday, alot less red and gooey. He let me pick him up without running away for the first time earlier. They both mutter to eachother. It's like a low volume tuts, squeeks and coo's. Short little queekie chirps are heard when they are together too. Is this a happy noise? None of them have popcorned as of yet, well, if they have, I haven't witnessed it. I hope this doesn't mean they are unhappy. Thanks for all the comments.

I was amazed that Morty popcorned around his cage when I first brought him home, but he also snuggled me and told me a whole long story, so he is a very socialized pig, and was happy to be with me. Mostly it takes a while for them to relax enough to popcorn, so be patient.
They do know when we are trying to help them. His eye may feel a lot better after the drops, so while he doesn't like them, he likes the result, and he's grateful to you for helping him.

Don't worry - no popcorning doesn't mean they're unhappy, just that they don't quite have the confidence yet. It will come. Some pigs just don't popcorn much anyway, they find other ways to express themselves! Like 3piggles says, you just need to take your time watching and listening to them and you'll slowly get round to working out what they're trying to tell you. Some things you might never quite work out - but that's not unusual either - even the most experienced pig-slaves here can be surprised by their pigs every now and then!
Just enjoy your pigs and they'll get around to enjoying you, and letting you know in their own unique way!

Thank-you for all the advice. I've just given Brillo his eye drops this morning. He didnt seem to bothered. Also he is starting to sometimes, let me pick him up from his cage without running away. That really pleased me. However, when I hold Brillo, He seems as if he vibrates.. It feels like a rumble of his whole body. He never makes a noise at all. Just shakes/vibrates. My mum thinks its because he's a very nervous piggie. But i'm going to ask the vet tomorrow when we take him back about it too.

I think he's purring, which is a happy sound. If pigs aren't happy, are hurting or scared, they will chutter their teeth, but that's about it.

He could be, but there is no noise. So i'm wondering if it's just him shaking.. I had him on the sofa with me today. He enjoyed some tasty carrot and apple. He then decided to explore for the first time. Which involved climbing all over me and biting the zip on my clothes! Haha. His confidence is definatly growing the more I handle him which is really nice to see. Back to the vets tomorrow with him.

Not all pigs make much noise when they purr or even when they talk. They all can, some just don't. If his motor is running, he's purring, even if you can't hear it.
That's a good sign. Most pigs don't bother to play with us unless they are getting relaxed enough to interact with us. Glad he enjoyed his lap time!!!

His visit to the vets was very good. His eye has healed well, and he will only need his eye drops for about 1 more week. I questioned the vet on his vibrating. She said, it sounds like he is purring. But just hasn't found his voice yet, because he is still young. Awh bless him.

I'm glad the eye is OK. Not all piggies sound alike, not even making the same type of noises. You can compare it with our human voices.

Yes I suppose thats the case. He just really does virbate. I'm hoping its not the vibrations from him chattering his teeth. Well, they both had some spring greens tonight. They enjoyed them alot. Brillo's favourite however is Apple from what I can gather. Had them one week today.

Congrats on your one week anniversary!!! I do think it's purring, as chuttering their teeth feels completely different, and the point to chuttering is to make noise.

Cattering teeth in a hostile way does not vibrate the body - only purring does!

I was holding Morty yesterday and felt him vibrating. I had to listen really carefully to hear the purrs, as he was just enjoying himself and relaxing. When I first held him he purred loudly enough for me to hear. Now he's settled down to just soft purrs. I'd say Jackson is a happy pig, especially now that he know you love him enough to take care of him.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've just come back from holiday. I am now re-united with my piggies. They are alot more settled into things now, alot less shy. Things are looking really good.
