I often use shuttles just for fun, as the pigs prefer it to having their feet dangling. He will come around, in his own time. Don't feel guilty. He will pick up on that, and wonder if he's doing something wrong. Just love him as he is, and when he's ready, he'll change. Snuggle him despite his objections. You'll do fine!!!

sometimes when piggies object and run away from being picked up, I think they are just being funny, and really secretly love to be cuddled My boss pig always runs -- but if others get picked up and not her, she is the first to get jealous!!

Thanks for the ideas! I've been unable to puerchase any snuggle cup things, due to paying for driving lessons, haha, all my wages are gone for this month! So instead I have been using the towel. He is alot easier to catch now, and I make sure we have at least 2 minute cuddles before he goes back into the cage, this helps his little heart stop racing! Hes fine and loves cuddles once hes in my arms. I've been spending alot of time with them in the play pen. Jackson loves it! Hes very curious so climbs all over me when I get in the pen, Brillo just follows behind very timid and peering around the hay tunnel to take a good look at me. When I get out of the pen they both follow me all the way around the perimetre, and sometimes they even wheek for me to come back! Its very sweet. I was wondering.. (might sound stupid) but if there is anyway of playing with them? I stroke them and offer them hay, but it would be cute to play some piggie games with them to keep them entertained.

one of my pigs is very curious and loves to walk around, and when my boyfriend gets on all fours, the piggy runs underneath him and pops. She used to make tracks and speed around him in a figure 8! That is a fun game... also my pigs have learned how to get from the living room to my room, and then back to the pig room!! There are also playgrounds I bought them at walmart(ferret toy) so when they come out they can go through the tunnels. Also talking to them in a sweet voice gets mine really excited.

Ahh thanks for the ideas! Mine love following my feet if I walk around. Especially Jackson. He squeeks and runs after them, and climbs on them if I dont move for a few seconds! Its really sweet.

I get the feeling with my pigs that they just hate the being caught and being moved about - once they are settled on my lap or in my arms, they're fine! I try and catch them and pick them up as gently as possible but they all still complain!
I love the feet thing you describe!

Yeah haha, its very sweet. We've had so much lovely weather lately, they have loved being outside. I saw two boars in the pet shop in the adoption section yesterday, someone had brought them back because they couldnt look after them well. They were so sweet. Its hard not to bring every single one home.

Yeah, Brillo is becoming alot better. He hate it when hes in the play pen and I go to stroke him though, he thinks I'm coming to put him back in the cage so he jumps and runs away from me, haha. After a while he just gets tired and gives up. I clipped their claws today, I made a nice job if I do say so myself hehe. Thanks Izzie! Yeah Brillo is my cute but timid baby boy, And I cant remember how I did the signature, sorry! I did it so long ago. :/

My guinea pig does the same thing Ooh, I've never had much luck with clipping claws. The vet does it a lot better than me! You're welcome! He does remind me of steel wool Don't be sorry!

It's great that Brillo is coming out of his shell. Mine usually don't like being cuddled when they are out and about. I am glad that he loves the outdoors!

Yeah it really is great. Hes got a thing about putting his nose against mine. Whenever i'm holding him he tries to do it, I dont know what hes trying to do or tell me.. haha. Jackson is still as cheeky as ever, I'm going to bring them in soon, so I'll get some more pigtures!

Sorry for the double post everyone! But I'm so worried. I got Jackson and Brillo inside ealier, and I noticed Jacksons ears were dry again, I use cream on them and they go back to normal. But today they are really really dry, and I've noticed he has a bald patch behind one of his ears. He is eating, sleeping, drinking, playing all as normal. The bald bit isnt red or sore. Just normal skin. I dont know whats happened?

Nothing has happened. Most piggies have a bald patch behind each ear; they use the blood circulation in their ears to regulate the body temperature and don't want their ears stuck in lots of warm fur!
Only worry if one ear patch is suddenly much bigger or differently formed than the other. In that case, it might be fungal.

I bought an aloe vera plant, and use the aloe from small pieces to moisturize the pigs' dry spots. It's so much less expensive than bottled moisturizers, and fine as long as it's just dry skin. Yodelpig is right that it probably is dry skin if it's on both ears equally.
Keep a small tube of Monistat cream for possible fungal outbreaks, though I don't think this is one. For moisturizing, you can use things like Bag Balm, too.
