Hello everyone, sorry I've been away for so long. Exams and stuff have taken over in the last couple of months. Brillo and Jackson are doing fine, But recently I noticed some fur on Jacksons nose looked like it was sticking up. At first I thought nothing of it, I thought it must have been from him rubbing against something. But now i've noticed a little lump underneath it. It isnt very big and it looks abit like a scab. I'm going to start using his skin cream from his last skin problem. Will this clear it up? I'm starting to worry. Poor Jackson is always the one with the problems.

Could you post a picture of the bump? It's hard to tell what it might be from a discription. I hope it's nothing, and you get to enjoy your freer time with the pigs.

I'll try and get a picture tomorrow. I've had a closer look today, and its a very small bald patch. abit of the scab is hanging off with his fur on the end. It sounds strange but its so small that it doesnt look as bad as I'm making out. I'll grab a picture tomorrow. He's sleeping now and I dont want to disturb him

My Molly used to get that. I gave her regular baths, maybe twice a month, with an antifungal shampoo, and it really seemed to help.
There is a wonderful store in the UK called Neem Genie. I used to order from them until overseas shipping laws changed, sigh. You can order some Neem shampoo or rinse to use on the boys periodically, just to keep their skin conditioned. I am looking for a US company that sells Neem Leaves so I can make a tea to cool and pour over the pigs periodically.

Sorry I haven't been on here in ages!! I've been uber busy with A levels and silly exams! You'll be happy to know Brillo and Jackson are doing great. They had a wonderful summer, running around in their playpen, eating lots of yummy grass! Some other exciting news! I adopted two more Guinea Pigs today. They are both 3 years old, and their owner is moving to New Nealand. They needed a new home that would give them all the care and attention they need. So there I was! They are both boys, and they have a separate cage to Jackson and Brillo. I don't want any fighting, so I'm playing it very safe. Maybe on a nice day, I'll let all of them meet through a barrier in the playpen. But until then they are staying separate. The new boys... (These are the new names they have been given by me.) Bailey Logan They are both very tame and well handled. Logan was keen to snuggle and be stroked straight away. I'll be around on the forums alot more now my exams are out of the way!

Thank you! I didn't go out intending on getting them. I was just having a look around as usual. Then for some reason these two just grabbed my attention straight away. I knew I couldn't leave without them! I'll have more pictures up soon. When do you think I should let them out in the run? I don't want too much new stuff going on at once for them..

Well, I got the two new boys out today. They've been in their hutch since saturday, with the only visits being for food. I decided to get them out today, for abit of a groom and cuddles! Logan really didn't mind me picking him up. He's very simular to Jackson in that way. Maybe even more laid back to be honest. Bailey took abit more persuading.. haha. Piggie olympics took place to start off with. So I left him for 2 minutes to calm down. I didnt want to stress him out. I talked to him softly and eventually he gave in and let me lift him. ;D I can definatly see why Bailey used to be called Nodders! He nods so much! haha. He may end up with the nick name Noddy at this rate! I've noticed Bailey always wees on my though. Jackson,Brillo and Logan never wee on me, unless they've been out for ages! I don't know if its nerves, or if he just goes alot.. Later on I got Brillo and Jackson out for abit whilst I cleaned them out. They were on the slabs because the grass was very wet. Here is some pictures! Enjoy! Logan Logan and Bailey Jackson! He has the cutest little face! Boo! Brillo is abit camera shy..

They are all so adorable!!! Weeing isn't normal, but it happens. Most pigs try everything not to pee on us.
Make sure you observe his body language and know what he's been doing before he wees. He may be trying to tell you he wants to get down, but not in a way you understand.
He may also have limited patience with being held, and want to get down to play or just do what he wants to do. If he wees to make you put him down, don't. Make yourself weeproof so when he wees you can continue to hold him for a few more minutes. He will learn that weeing won't get him what he wants.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. Thanks 3piggles. He did it to me again today. Now you mention it I think it is his way of being put down. He seems to enjoy being petted though, so i'm not sure why he does it. I'm not sure if his previous owner put him straight down when he did it, meaning he knows how to get his way. I'll work on it with him. He's had a trip to the vet today. He had abit of a runny nose and the sniffles. I noticed he made abit of a funny noise when breathing. He got the all clear for a URI. I was so pleased. He's just literally got the cold symptoms. Its a good job i've caught it early. Hes on some medicine for his symptoms at the moment, and fingers crossed he'll be feeling very well soon! Hes eating, drinking and playing fine, so it doesnt look too bad.
