Ooh, yes please! Knitting and crochet have never really worked for me so if there's an easy pattern I can have a go at (that won't matter if it has the odd wee hole in it) then i'll certainly have a go! Or give it to my sister to make one for me... Shall I PM you my email address or postal address?

If the bed looks all small inside when your done , don't worry the cats get in there and form fit it themselves! If you or anyone looking for chrochet patterns etc, feel free to ask me. I don't crochet much in the summer but it's my winter sport so I have a collection. And Thank you Missmissy! The are my pride and joy.

Great snuggly cat pictures!! They look so cozy! I've been saying for almost a year that I want to learn to crochet, so I'll save the link you posted. My cats would love those beds!

Oh it's simple, (keep in mind this is an american written pattern, but I can help convert if anyone needs help, I have a chart) and if anyone tries and gets stuck, just msg me, I've done those three and 3 others as christmas gifts to my friends w. kitties. If fact by special request I am trying to make two more for my neibour (note this is actually quite a nice pattern to use up ball ends, As you can see I didn't stick to the perscribed colour scheme, basically just tieing onto the next ball end, but I think they turned out great!), she eyes them up while caring for our farm a few weekends ago. It's been hard to get started since it's been so hot, but I will try and get one in this long weekend (we are having a civic holiday monday - yey!). If you have lots of time you could feasible make most or all of one in a day, I usually don't though lol .

So, I've bought a crocheted hook and a book to tell me how to do it - erin, can you tell what medium worsted weight yarn would be in the UK, double knitting perhaps?

Excellent - thanks so much Erin! I've just spent all morning firing up my old desktop (it's old, I don't often use often use it any more and it's so slow because it's full of unnecessary junk!) because it's the one with the printer attached. I need to work out how to get the laptop to recognise the printer - any computer wizzes out there can help me? Think it's something to do with the wrong version of Windows. I'm sure I could Google a fix but not sure what to ask for! Anyway, off to print the pattern...

what version of windows do you have? If its Vists/ Windows 7, the plug and play should work (just plug in and viola). If not then I would plug it and follow the prompting for the wizard, which should get you the software online. If you don't even get the prompt for the wizard, there should be and 'Add and Remove Printer' in your control panel which should also prompt the 'wizard' to look online. ALL failing that I would check the age printer and consider getting a new one. If you have a newish laptop, a lot of the time it can be the age of the printer technology, seriously, these days stores wont even take printers back if they break or malfunction because they are made basically so cheap and disposable now (so they make you deal with the warranties directly with the manufacturer). Another tip to maybe help you make the latter decision ishow much does your ink cost, a strategy the companies used to phase out old models is to hike the cost of the ink cartridges to 3 times the price they should be. I used to have my parents old laser printer (might be dating myself but this was yr 2000 or so), which worked great for all intensive purposes, but after they started promoting the all-in-one scanning and 'bubble-jet' models, the price of ink for it went from $20.00 to $64.00 ea., a.k.a they wanted me to get pissed off and upgrade my printer lol.

Desktop runs XP and the laptop has Vista Home. When I can really be bothered (ie not right now - far too hot!) I'll have another go, note the error message and Google an answer. If all that fails, then a new printer it is. It's a Dell printer and ink has therefore always been pricy, about £20 a go. But there are places where you can get cartridges refilled which I'll try.
Now I'll shut up about computers - this is your cats' thread, not mine!

Check for ink refill kits online. We bought a couple (black is one, color is another) and refill our ink cartridges. Much less expensive than buying new cartridges all the time.
