I know am new but a few of you know I have had my heart set on this rescue little piggy called Bubba who has had to have an eye removed due to an absys (sp?). I just love his spirit... trying to eat with broken teeth & laying out all relaxed. My kind of pig nature wise. I've just fallen for him As you do! Well I can have him! Got confirmation from the boyf & from Louise at Squeaky pigs! Whoo hoo! He is going to be one spoilt pigger. Would you like to meet him (from pics Louise took)? Here is what happened to his eye... he developed an abscys very quickly... so please keep your own pigs checked. I have to say what Louose sid about this pic. You would know that this couldn't be treated as an eye infection wouldn't you? This piggy is in pain. If your piggy looks like this always get help asap So Louise had to take him for the eye removed. Look at him awwwwwwwwww bless I saw him like this & syringe fed him. He is living in an incibater on vet bed. He is a darling pig! Though he made serious fuss about inexperianced me syringe feeding him! And this is his other side so you can see how handsome he is img.photobucket.com/albums/v208/susiebucktrout/000_0113.jpg[/img] ;D I'm so excited! This will bring me up to 5... and Bubba is a very special pig who deserves a special home. Which he is sure to get! Hope you don't mind me sharing... Just have to tell everyone. Lucky me! Lucky Bubba!

Don't worry Louise at Squeaky Pigs rescue made sure he was comfy & not in pain... he's been living on luxuary pet bedding (fleecy vet bed) in an incubator eating grated carrot and getting syringe feeds. He's been well cared for there! He has his stitches out this Friday & should be ready to come to me a week saturday

Aww I'm glad he's now had his stitches out, bless him.
Will he need daily care with his eye Susie, I,m just asking because I used to have to bathe my blind piggies eyes everyday because they could get sticky/crusty.

I'm not sure yet but I am taking him on as a special pig, as I think he deserves to be a little spoiled after all he's been through... so whatever his needs are I hope to meet them. When I saw him he was doing great with one eye (& it wasn't long after the op)... he's definately a very brave piggy.

Louise said she expects the scar from the eye removal to heal fully. So it shouldn't need special care. I guess he is going to be like a regular piggy but just with 1 eye. Really excited about his cage as we are making 3 giant C&C cages so he will have loads of room! I'm going to give him a grassy hutch, an igloo & a chube to start with I think. Bet he will love it!
