I have the excuse of a new kitchen range to try out, so I've been making all sorts of fun things. Hope you and your mom enjoy the gooeys!!!

Man, I need to either learn to type better or at least check my post before I press send! I have no idea what gooeys are (but let me know what you found if you looked it up!) I meant to say good excuse!

Man, I need to either learn to type better or at least check my post before I press send! Oh please don't - it'd spoil the fun, no more recipes using aborigines for instance....!

I figured you meant goodies, so no problem there. Got the point, at least, lol!

Well, yodelpig's probably not too disappointed she gets to keep it all, but you're right, it would be nice to be able to email cakes!

Treen, I just had to pop in to tell you that I have just made your spinach and lentil curry and what a marvellous bowl of dinner I've just had! I did use a bit of artistic licence - think my mugs (that's MUGS!) must be bigger than yours so I had loads of lentils, I put two tins of tomatoes in cos I like it tomatoey and the spinach wasn't strictly all spinach! But it was all green leafy stuff. I served it with a big dollop of yogurt and a handful of grated cheese and really enjoyed my dinner. I can see why your family are so fond of it - thanks for the recipe

Oooh glad you enjoyed it! But grated cheese on it?! That's never occurred to me - did it work?!

Cheese on curry definitely works for me - please do try it. Same as putting parmesan or some such on your bolognese!
Just put a choc chip banana loaf in the oven - recipe from Nigella's Domestic Goddess book. Mmm!

Cheese on curry definitely works for me - please do try it. Same as putting parmesan or some such on your bolognese! Hmmm I'll think about it...! I do like grated cheese on stews, and I guess it's just a spicy stew really. I really like mango chutney (and parmesan) with spaghetti bolognese - great combo!

This is making me feel hungry LOL. I love grated cheese on most things but I have to confess to not being too keen on parmesan, I just prefer normal cheese.

Jo, what's wrong with cheese that smells like old feet?!
Last week I accidentally knocked over some grated parmesan in the kitchen while I was cooking. I've misplaced my dustpan and brush so one of the kids brought the hoover in and helpfully hoovered it up for me and I thought no more about it. Until a few days later when I went to hoover the house and after I'd done a couple of rooms I noticed the whole house had started to smell like foisty old socks! Windows opened, hoover bag chucked out and all was well again!

Mango chutney - that's a new one. I'll need to try it.

I've done that. It doesn't help that the vacuum is stored in the coat closet. Had to wash/dry clean all the coats one time!!!

Granddaughter's second birthday is in a couple of weeks, and she love pigs of the oink variety. I finally found a discontinued animal face cake pan on Amazon, that is a dog face, with with instructions to create about 5 different faces, including a pig. So, here's the practice cake: It's a little lop sided, but I think I've worked out most of the issues. Hopefully the one I make for the party will be better.

That's brilliant! Your granddaughter will be delighted with that, I don't think it needs any improvement at all - it's fantastic! Good idea about a 'practise cake' though - I'm all for extra cakes when it comes to eating them!

Daughter saw the picture on Facebook and wants to see it when she comes down for Mother's Day, Sunday. I told her it would be a week old by then, but I would save it and we could try it.
