Quite right - 'you snooze, you lose' as I always say (usually to the kids when I'm beating them at snap)!
I need to pencil in a shopping trip to finish my Christmas shopping - I know pretty much what I need to get so hopefully it'll be as fun a shopping trip as yours!

We really have to stop shopping. Seems as if every time we go anywhere for anything, we end up finding another cute gift for granddaughter.
I made peppermint bark for daughter's food gift. A layer of dark chocolate covered by a layer of white chocolate with crushed peppermint candies mixed in. I sprinkled more crushed peppermint candies over the top, and it's setting up in the fridge. Once it's set, I'll break it into pieces.
I have a of cookies to make, so figure I'll do one type each day. Should get then all done this week! Hub's on vacation next week, so we can relax a bit.

We've got the obligatory pre-Christmas virus here, so all my plans of getting stuff sorted this week have gone to pot in exchange for administering medicine to feverish children. Hopefully we're getting it all out of the way before Christmas though?

Rubbish Treen I've had my cold and my flu jag for this year so hopefully no more. My brother and his missis have had that norovirus thing - definitely don't fancy that! Might do a bit of baking at the weekend for the big day, see if I've got the energy. Need to go and see the cats at the shelter too, I've missed them the past couple of weeks with too much else to do!

Ugh on the flu, Treen! Maybe my over-sanitizing isn't such a bad thing, after all. Daughter always picks on me for it, but she's always sick, and we rarely are! Got most of my baking done yesterday. I was going to do one type of cooker per day, but got on a roll. Killed my back, as I totally know better than to have to stand that long. Better today, so probably off to do myself more harm It was lucky, as hub decided last minute that he needed to bring his boss a small token gift, so we wrapped a selection of cookies for him to take to work I have one or two more types of cookies to make, but so far have the peppermint bark, sugar cookies with three different sugar sprinkles, mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip with different colored chips. I hope to make butter cookies and a new one (have to find the recipe), that will make a nice selection! Doing the last bit of shopping today, as the weather is supposed to be lousy tomorrow. I figure the last shopping weekend before christmas will be crazy, but I can always sacrifice hub, and send him to the store for me

Oooh your cookies sound delicious and I bet hub's boss enjoyed them! If there's any you'd especially recommend, please post the recipe as we'll be making biscuits this weekend. Hope your back doesn't take too long to recover.
Thank you for the flu-related sympathy! It's so annoying there are so many bugs around this time of year when there are loads of parties and special events (especially as kids are so bad at keeping their germs to themselves!). But definitely hope the norovirus gives us a miss this year. I hate hearing all those news stories about the outbreak on the cruise ship and schools being closed because over half the kids have it - it's enough to make you feel nauseous!
