You can buy a plug in which makes cats happy and content. I wish someone would make something that works for piggies and bunnies LOL!

Some people think the dog ones can work for pigs but I've not heard enough about it to think it's a tried and trusted method!

I think it is called a Feliway or similar hun. I will check up. I agree with you Bean love, I wouldn't assume it is good for any other than the pet it is intended for.

We are thinking of getting one of the for our dogs for firework night. To get them a little calmer if possible. Do wonder if it works for pigs. I am quite lucky with my girls as Jesu both pretty chilled out :-)

With pigs I've found our actions help more than anything. Notvonly do we not act stressed or scared, but we keep the TV volume loud enough to blend in all but the worst crashes. Unlike Tstorms, when animals pick up on atmospheric changes, fireworks are only a lot of loud bangs. Not sure if it makes a difference with using the plug ins.

Mine don't seem bothered by sounds. Possibly because we live all around them, talking over the TV, running power tools in the back room, hammering things, etc. Our house is very lived in, and the pigs seem fine with that. I also take them out of the condos and hold them while they watch the kids or neighbors play on the back lawn. They know there is life outside their room, so they don't seem bothered by much.

Cable and Internet guy was here today, changing us over to the latest and greatest and cheaper version. He was in and out of the piggy room with and without hubby, uninstalling, reinstalling, pulling wires out of the ceiling. Mia slept through most of it, so couldn't care less. Momo watched with rapped attention, and Morty supervised. I wouldn't say much upsets my 3, lol

The one time mine leave their coats behind and meet themselves coming back is if there is a sudden loud noise. They are too nosy however to be hidden for any length of time LOL.

Had fireworks last night. Pigs couldn't have cared less. Rustle a plastic bag, and they go nuts

It would be lovely to see into ther little heads wouldn't it love, and find out what really matters to them? Hugs JO xx Hubby and I were just discussing this a couple of days ago. It drives him nuts that they still run from him but love being held by him. It confuses him, and honestly, me too.

A lot of pigs mellow out about being picked up when they're older, but not all! They are funny things for sure.
We went away recently and I was a bit worried about leaving the boys given their recent squabbling, especially as their 'away from home' cage is smaller than the C&C. But it sounds like the change of scene did them good as they squabbled far less and have been much better since they got back home too - fingers crossed that continues. Not sure if it was just the shock of being moved that stopped the vicious cycle but think I will send them away for a couple of nights if they start getting lairy again!

Almost all pigs run. Not only are they prey animals, so wary of any contact until proven safe. My Morty doesn't run away, but both girls do. My Zippy didn't run, but I got him at 4 weeks old, and I was his mom Tell hubby it's as much a game they play as anything. What counts is how they are when they're with you. From his floor experience, I'd say they love him

Darcy is the little spooky one and will always run away, however, when you hold him he seems to relax and enjoy it, not so Mrs Lacy however LOL!!

I'm finding that my boys are less skittish than they used to be, but they still run. Hubby finally listened to me about how to approach the boys and now they don't run whenever he is nearby. They had a great bonding time on the floor that I think really helped.
I used to be really careful about what noises where being made near them, but after reading the above posts I realized that they will get used to them eventually. The boys are only six months old, so I can't expect them to be like an adult piggie.
