I guess it's been a long while since I had little 'uns! They such good fun anyway, hilarious to watch. I've had to use a hay rack for the first time in my life too, to make sure they have nice clean hay - before hay racks have always been ignored as I've always just stuck a load in the cage each day for playing and eating and they've preferred that. But Josh and Cadders fling it and bury it everywhere and it ends up all getting wee-soaked, so I need the rack to make sure they have nice stuff to eat. I give them some to play in too - otherwise they make a game out of pulling it all out of the hay rack without eating it!
Margaret, one of my first memories of having a guinea pig was a black pig who we bought home (and in a stroke of originality, we named her Sooty!) when I was probably about 5. Somehow she got loose on the floor and managed to run through to the kitchen. I remember my mum carefully pulling the gas cooker out to find and recapture her, and as soon as she moved it, Sooty was off again - not a good start! Funny to think of you and hub dancing round all excited to recapture your pig anyway!

Hubby is finally getting into enjoying watching the pigs. I think having them in the family room really helps, as they keep catching his interest trashing their houses, running zoomies or pulling hay out of the hay racks. They know when we're putting things away to go to bed, and line up at the cage edges to get their treats. They do their little dances and talk, chirp and generally carry on. He sometimes gives them treats, though he knows they expect the treats from me. He's starting to talk to them, stop and pet them, etc. Morty is the best one to pet, as he likes the attention, and doesn't run away. My big lummox pig

What does 'lummex' mean piggies? X

Lummox means big and not very dainty. Momo is sleek and fast. Mia is small and determined. Morty is a big, lovable hunk of piggy who just likes to crash around, and isn't bothered by much of anything

Mine calls me a beached whale! All in loving fun, if he knows what's good for him. It was summer when I was pregnant with daughter, so I felt great in the water, but huge out of the water. I actually said I felt like a beached whale, and it stuck

Ha ha, yes he is much quicker than me also and always gets something funny in at my expense All in good fun though. The other day I was having a coffee and he asked me if I wanted a kit kat. I didn;t at that point and he said "Good God, has someone sewn its trap up" LOL!! Oh yes Margaret love, there is plenty of me all right.

Quick snap of the boys taken last time I cleaned their cage out - they'd had a peg about in the run and then snuggled up under a bit of paper. Of course as soon as they saw me, they popped their heads up and changed the photo, but they still look sweet! They're definitely getting a lot bigger - and are 6 months old today!

Thanks - they aren't easy to photograph with Cadders being so dark and Josh's eyes being red. Mind you, my main problem taking pictures at the moment is that my DSLR camera is playing up (the flash isn't working properly) and my point and push's battery is flat and I can't find the blooming charger! I took this photo with my phone but it's not the greatest camera and blurs quite easily. I'll put it on my long list of things to get sorted out!

Excellent picture for a phone. I have trouble holding the phone steady to take the picture.

Thanks Bean for the photo, love to see piggies with paper but I would never manage a photo like yours, what a lovely wee pair. I had stiff paper from a parcel and I spent 15mins today taping a little hide, it looked great and quite strong. One piggie Sweetpea ran in and out a few times then sat about 30 seconds inside. I went to get their snacks and returned 10 mins later, my beautiful hide was totally flattened and covered in pee and poo! Maybe I'll stick with paper bags! Xx

We had a Cadbury (Cadders) too, it really suits piggies.
