I don't suppose the rescue you got her from would be able to help with the cost of spaying her? So many rescues do it routinely before they rehome rabbits because of the behavioural and health problems that are likely if you don't. Just a thought.
Sorry her hormones are causing her grief at the moment, but I'm sure having a stable, loving home is helping her no end.

Thank is a great suggestion Bean love but I know that Maria is runnning on a pretty tight budget. She is a frend as well whch makes t a tadge awkweard.
I will pass your love onto Holly and thank you for saying she has a good home. Apart frm her lttle problem, I think she is happy, she lays with her little legs out at the back which is a sign of happiness.
Hugs

I don't know if it works for bunnies, but I saw on a list of uses of vinegar, spraying furniture with a light mist to keep pets from scratching or chewing. Apparently it doesn't harm the furniture any. I think it was equal parts water and white vinegar. Just wanted to pass that on

Thank you ladies for all your help and kindness. Since Binky passed, she has stopped chewing completely, I do hope she is OK.

We complain about our spouses and significant others, but it doesn't mean we don't want them around. She needs to get through her mourning period, too. You are all there for each other, so I think she'll be just fine. Would you like me to change the name of this thread?

Yes please my love if you would, that is so very considerate. I must say that for the past few days Holly has been an absolute dream. Following me around and snugglng up at night and during the day, rollng onto her side and showing a gorgeous white tummy. You are right, she needed to grieve too and I thnk I was just expectng too much being in the state I was. I so need this now and I know how lucky I am.

Thank you my sweeties. I am still feeling very sad Margaret love, as if I cannot come to terms with it. I would be lying though if I didn't say that my other bunny is making up for a lot. Holly my little girl Rex is an absolute dream, always following me and cuddling up to me, which is what is needed right now. It is as if she knows, love her.
Lots of love to you

I think they do know, Jo. You were patient and loving with her. She's returning the favor It takes time. Can't see I ever really get over it. It just gets easier to manage after a while.

You have hit the nail on the head perfectly 3piggles love, we never do get over our grief. Luckily little Holly is a real people bunny and I think oare right yoo when you say that she knows. She is always rolling onto her little side and when she wants a fuss, which is all the time, she puts her little head in our hand.
Hugs

Poor you Jo, just keep giving and getting hugs from wee Holly, it all helps ease the pain a bit. I still feel heart sorry for my wee baby Max who died during neutering and I never really knew him like you knew your wee bun bun. I find myself reading about other piggies who just go in to get their teeth done and get neutered at the same time and everything is ok or other males who went with their brothers and all were well. I'm starting to feel bitter about the vet who botched up the op and mad at myself for not asking for one of the mature experienced vets, I'm so angry now...why didn't I think it out better, or maybe this is a normal grieving process. Anyway enough of my moans, big hugs to you Jo xx

Oh sweetie, thank you for your lovely message. I know exactly how you feel but you mustn't beat yourself up about it. We all do things that in hindsighte would be not the best but you did all you could for your little Max. When ever mine go to the vet, I always wonder if it is the last time I am going to see them. the irony was, two weeks before I lost Binky he had been in for a tooth operation. With little Holly, she is going to have to be spayed soon and I am not looking forward to that at all.
Thank you for your hugs love, I am sending loads back to you.
Love and hugs Jo xxx

As much as I trusted the vets doing the neuterings and operations on my piggies, I practically held my breath through the whole operation and recovery. If the vet said he'd call as soon as surgery was done, and he didn't, I was a mess. They are our children!

You are not alone there love, I always end up ringing the vet first. I am always on hot coals whilst one of my babeis are having surgery. Yes, they are our children.
