we ended up getting a baby pigger this week, her name is Questina, so named for the "blonde" question mark shaped marking on the dark spot on her back. she's adorable, and only about as big as my hand! she makes patrick look huge! she's about 2 months old, if not younger and very timid yet, she hides from everyone, even my daughter, who is really good with animals. i will try to get some pics., but right now she's too shy.

when piggies are that young they are going to be pretty shy and timid, scared of noise and movement until they get their bearings. (especially when they are very small-is she a runt? they tend to be more so) I had a crested runt for a short bit named Moose, he was the same way for about a week, and then warmed up overnight and became a cuddle bug. Just give her some time, talk gently to her, make sure she gets used to your smell and your presence. I would often just place my hand either just inside the habitat or just outside it while talking to them to get them used to my presence and smell. Piggies have horrible eyesight but they have a very keen sense of smell.

Aww congratulations on your new addition and what a cool, original name! I'm sure she will settle in nicely with a bit of time and patience. It's mad how skittish they can be at first, especially when you're used to older chilled out pigs. Makes you feel bad for moving when it seems to give them a heart attack!
Will you be having the same side by side arrangement as you did with the lovely Clarissa?
Will look forward to seeing pictures when she's settled in a bit more.

thank you! when she gets a little bigger she'll be living beside patrick, right now she's so tiny, we have her across the room, i don't know if she is a runt or just very young, when we found her they said she was 2 months, but she was much smaller than the other two girls

I found talking to the pigs, especially telling them that I was coming, helped to settle them down quickly. Even now, if I forget to announce my arrival, they stay so wrapped up in their own business, when I finally arrive, I scare the stuffing out of them. I use one or two words for each thing, like hay, treat, vacuum, etc., and I generally talk to them while I'm in the room, working on the cage, or watching TV. I think the more they feel in control of their lives, the faster they settle in. Questina sounds absolutely adorable! Can't wait to meet her

have i mentioned that this little piggy is awesome?. when questina came out of her shell she REALLY came out, now she'll play "tag" with me, following my hand as it crawls across her cage or the floor during playtime. ad she popcorns like crazy! i've never seen a piggy get so much air time! i swear she must have popcorned a good six inches off the ground yesterday. she's so full of joy, she's been a huge balm on our spirits around here.

She loves being with you, she has been praying for a home like this. I chat to my piggies and bunny anyway, about anything and everything. If they answered Paul said it would be time for me to have a lie down LOL!!

she's such a funny girl, she plays tag by chasing my hand and running from it, she runs lap, and popcors all the time, especially when she sees my daughter, she's getting bigger now, but she's still barely as long as my hand, she may always be small. we make jokes about her being part hamster:P

I love zoomies. I've set up a great course of tubes and awnings in Momos cage, and she sets different zoomies routes each time. So glad your baby is settling in and growing up happy and healthy Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
