Welcome to George! He is adorable. I do where with bean about quarantine etc but least you are getting them both checked out at the vets in a couple of weeks to make sure. I am also sure that the adult baby combo does work well. George Is probably looking to his brother for help and direction. I really do hope ur goes from strength to strength xx

All threads merged together now - there's a couple of parts where you look a bit manic talking to yourself (because you originally wrote the posts in different threads) but I think it's come together okay!
Hope the boys are still having lots of fun together!
How are the moving plans coming along - are you all feeling prepared?

Indiana, yes Henry and George are obviously the best names ever!
Thanks Bean! Its ok if I look a little nutty since I am! :-)
The boys are great! Henry has taken to being a big brother very well. He and George snuggle in the same house together. George is trying a nibble of everything Henry eats. George follows him everywhere! Henry is a very happy boy again.
I am not seeing any URI symptoms in either boy.
The plans for the move are coming along nicely. We lined up the dates with the moving company, planned our route, and booked all our hotels. There's not too much left to do at this point.
How long will it take George to start taking food from my hand? I can't get him to taste a vitamin c tablet either. Henry and Charlie were about 3 months old when I got them. George is 1 month, so this is uncharted territory for me!

I think they all differ, but if you get them out on your lap together and hand feed them something tasty, he should get used to taking stuff from you and start trusting you a bit more. Then when you offer them something by hand in the cage or during floor time, he'll begin approach you. Will probably happen more quickly for having Henry's lead to follow but it's still very early days.
It's funny thinking now of what Josh and Cadders were like when they came home (ages 6 weeks) - quite nervous and would move away at movement etc. Now when they're out they practically weave around my feet hoping veggies will fall down on them!
Glad the moving plans are coming together - hope all the house stuff is going through okay too? Are you feeling more positive about this move yet or just getting your head down and ploughing on with what needs to be done?

George finally took a little bit of carrot from my hand this morning! I'm so happy about that. He is so skittish, I hope he settles quickly! Henry just sits out in the open and never bolts anymore, so hopefully George will pick up on that. It really is amazing to stop and think about how quickly they grow and change. We have a housing inspection and an appraisal standing in our path to getting the house sold. I am not worried about either. They are routine for the purchase of a house here in the states. I still have mixed feelings about the move but I think it's just because I'm so tired of moving all the time! Here are a few pictures of Henry and George. You can see them sharing a carrot in one of them.

Aww sweet - Henry looks very laid back about sharing his grub! Glad George is coming round too, that's a really good sign he's taking food from you after only a few days.
I love George's odd socks - I have a weakness for animals with differently coloured feet!

Henry is very laid back and I hope that it rubs off on George. Henry will run over to the middle of the cage and look up at me like "Hey, you gonna pick me up?" I love Georges "socks", but I wish they were all white. I hate cutting black nails. Henry looks like he is talking to George in this picture! "Hey George, the human put us on the kitchen counter! That means she is going to give us something yummy!" And here's a picture of George having is first cucumber, He loved it!

I cannot get little George to take Vitamin C tablets! I have had him 2 weeks today and he has only had 1 tablet. I offer them everyday. I tried orange juice, he just lets it dribble out. Should I try liquid vitamin c? Should I just keep trying the tablets? He is eating just fine otherwise. I just know how important vitamin c is.
Oh and when I got George the pet store asked me if I had a salt block. I lied and said yes because I didn't want to buy something that wasn't needed. I have never read anything about them needing a salt block. What was that all about?

No salt blocks. Bad for guinea pigs. Good for the store profits only. Store employees are trained to sell items. Most kniw nothing about the animals, or they wouldn't work in a pet store.
Try a small section of an orange segment. George may not like the tablet form. None of mine would take the tablets, though I've known of pigs that did.

I figured that the salt block was just a sales thing, but I had to ask!
I am going to try giving an orange segment later today. Thanks for the idea!

Ugh! We are going back to the vet today. Henry has a runny nose again. I noticed some boogers yesterday, but his nose was dry. It is now wet and gross. He took his last dose of meds Monday night. This is round 3. Baby George is perfectly fine. Makes me wonder if this is something else all together. We leave in a few hours. I will update when we get home. I'm taking both boys in.

3 more weeks on the TMS Elixir. His heart and everything else checks out great. She said sometimes some pigs just need to be on meds for awhile. Hopefully this fixes things. On a great note little George checked out great!
