Does anyone use vet bed in their piggy palaces? I have an allergy to dust and am currently using paper based cat pellets but say some vet bed today and it felt sooo good. Im sure the fuzzballs would like it better. My only concern is keeping vetbed clean. How often would it need changing etc?

I've heard very good things about it . It's too expensive for me with the size cages I have, or I would try it. It works the same way fleece does, and fleece is much less expensive here.

I tried fleece before but didnt like it. My friend had a sample piece and said it was great (she is a vet nurse). Its much cheaper on ebay than in stores x

Not sure about vet beds. I tried fleeces once and didn't like them but I tried again and persevered, now I wouldn't use anything else. I wash my fleeces every 2nd to 3 rd day at the longest. . I have two sets of fleeces, one for hutches and one for the run. When the piggies are in their run I hang the hutch ones up to air and dry and when in their hutches at night I hang the run ones up to air and dry. Works well, just need good brush. Can't say if it would work with vet beds, does urine flow through a vet bed Katie? Vet beds are just so expensive here although I did buy one when my last dog was old. Let us know how you get on? Xxx

I used it for a while and it did an ok job but coz it is quite thick it is harder to do quick daily cleans and I felt smelt a little more. We now use fleece with megazorb underneath! Hardly any smell and the megazorb can be left there for a couple of weeks if you change the fleece at least weekly!

I had problems with fleece in the beginning, but I have it down to a science now, so no problems. Towel absorbent layer doesn't do the job. Megazorb, Carefresh, kitty litter or pellet bedding that really absorbs makes all the difference. Once I figured out to use a layer of window screen to keep the loose bedding off the back of the fleece, ta da!
Each of my cages is 91 inches long. Enough vet bed for both cages would bankrupt me, even off Ebay.

I used vetbed for a while - at first I found it got hair/ hay stuck in it which was a pain and my washing machine hated it, but then made pillowcases for it from cotton sheets and that worked better. It's very absorbant and dries quickly. I plan to try fleece next time I go washable though, I didn't like the rigidity of vetbed so much and it is expensive. I gave all mine away when I knew I wasn't having pigs for a while - had no storage space at the time so keeping it 'just incase' wasn't a viable option!
