Hi I went to the pet store to get some hay for my chinchilla and guinea pigs I usully use oxbow Timothy hay but they was all out of it. I don't care much about kaytee stuff but that is the only kind they have Is this ok for them it saids it fortified for chinchilla and guinea pigs and that it who I buy it for

I'm not familiar with the product - it sounds a bit unnecessary to add vitamins and minerals to hay but I can't see it would do any harm, and certainly not used short term. Having hay constantly is much more important than weeing out a few superfluous vitamins!

Keep the bag abd check the nutrients against Oxbow. If I recall correctly, Oxbow has more C and less calcium. The recommendation for Oxbow products is based on comparisons of ingredients and fortifying nutrients, but I did the comparisons years ago, and don't remember the specifics.
