...Morning... ...As a previous member of the Wheekers community with my own piggies, Pucca n Garu, I am now introducing you to two new piggies... ...Here are Boris n Biscuit... ...Boris is the lighter in colour n Biscuit is the darker piggie... ...They are two little girlies around three n a half years old... ...Their story is an interesting one... ...They were adopted from a rescue centre as class pets by a teacher at the school where I work, when they were around six months old... ...After a year the teacher moved schools leaving the piggies behind n I moved them into my class n took on looking after them... ...Unfortunately I don't think this is working too well... ...We don't really have the time at school to give them the attention they deserve, the children are not involved with looking after them so consequently are not very interested... ...They spend most of their day cooped up in a four by two foot indoor cage...my old one so a lot larger than the one they had previously...with occasional time outside for grass nibbling... ...The girls spend every school holiday at home with me, my two boys n three cats... ...So...I have decided that maybe they should not go back to school in September but enjoy their retirement at home here with us... ...I wasn't really looking to take on the responsibility of two more full time pets but how can I resist those gorgeous piggie faces...?... ... ...x...

Hi darknightangel! I don't think I would be able to take them back to the school either. They are totally adorable.

Welcome back, and nice to meet the new girls. Piggies do have a way of getting into our hearts. I'm sure they'll greatly enjoy their retirement

Hello and welcome back - you have brought some beautiful pigs with you too, lovely! Doesn't sound like the classroom environment is really doing much for them so I can understand you not wanting to continue with it - perhaps an occasional visit so the kids can learn about them and animal welfare would be better.

Yes you are right Bean love. I have hermit crabs who are absolutely adored and one lady very well intentioning, wanted to get some for the class she teaches at school. We all said no way, you would never see them. They would be buried permanently with their little claws over ther ears LOL!!

...woohoo... ...We can finally welcome Boris n Biscuit as full time members of our family... ...Our head at school has said that although she will miss seeing them n hearing them wheek when she visits the reception classes, they will probably have more attention at home here with us... ...So how are the girlies celebrating their first day in retirement...?... ...running around n grass grazing in their outdoor pen that's how... ...x...
