Okay guys, I'm going to need your help...crowleys bottom teeth are now too long and I think he's in pain... Anyone know how to file/trim teeth? I mean yes I can take him to the vet, but I'd much rather not do that! Just wondering if anyone had any ideas!!
Crowley is giving me anxiety! This guy is having everything go wrong with him, ugh!

Is it his front teeth or back teeth? My stewpot had troubles with his teeth as his front ones cracked then coz he was eating properly his back ones grew. Then the front ones grew even longer. We had to have his top teeth taken out in the end he learned to eat again with them we we had to trim his bottom teeth every couple of weeks (vets taught us how to do it) as there was nothing for them to grind against. Dental problems are very tricky and I would take him to the vets to get looked at. Stewpot had to be sedated to have his back teeth trimmed as well unfortunately we lost stewpot a few months later due to his teeth trouble and lack of eating. Hope you get yours sorted soon xx

I'm not so sure that I'd be brave enough to do it myself...but here is what I found. www.guinealynx.info/malocclusion.html Scroll down to Treatment Advice on this site johnjackson.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-look-after-your-guineapigs-teeth "You can cut and trim the guinea pigs teeth using special kits but it is advised that you have training on how to use them as it can easily go wrong. Also you may not be able to do the procedure as it can be unpleasant." In reading what I found, I really think a vet visit is necessary for this.

The vet has the right clippers to use, and knows how to use them. If this is going to be an ongoing problem, you can buy the right clippers and have the vet teach you how to use them, if the vet is willing. For now, definitely have the vet do the clipping.

Okay so since I shadow a vet he did it for me for free- Crowley is now eating carrots and cucumber without it being chopped up! I hope he starts drinking water from his bottle soon!! I stopped mushin his pellets, he hopefully will return to normal
Weird thing is, the bottom teeth and top teeth do not like up..is that bad?
Thank you everyone for your concern and help!!!

The bottom and top teeth should line up, but since the top teeth are new, they may not look the same as the bottom teeth. Can you post a picture of the difference?

Sorry I have been out of touch! Crowley has taken a trip with me to the beach! He's nervous and scared but he's trusting me to keep him safe! He's not going on the beach or anything, but he's just scared of the loud noise my family creates! Will post a picture of his teeth once things calm down! He is eating though, so I'm happy!

You're brave. I haven't been brave enough to take them someplace new. Hubby has talked about traveling with them, but we have only traveled via flight since getting them. The complications of taking them on a flight would be too stressful on us and the boys. Weasley has been to the Vet, and the boys have been to friends houses who are pigsitting. The closest to an adventure is when I took Harry to my parents' house to meet for the first time.

Hahaha well we drove, so he was in a pet carrier and just sitting and eating hay the entire time! Now when we stopped at a hotel he had to spend a night in a drawer (that was open and his house was in it) but other than that he's been fine! He's a great guinea pig, and he's good with changes (I think it had to do with his first owner) and that really helps!
