Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits!
So technically we're into autumn now (some don't count it until later into September). Just realised that the paddling pool I bought for the kids when we were having a heatwave at the end of last term, is still in the box! After a promising start, it's been rather a cool and damp summer. Oh well, it's more likely to stay unpunctured in the box so we'll just keep it by for next year!

Hi Bean love, yes we are in the "bers" which is my favourite time of year. We all know what this is leading up to don't we, that unmentionable word beginning with C LOL?!!
Today has been pretty quiet but I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. I keep loosing my balance and have a horrid tingling sensation all over. I will proabbly end up going to Derriford outpatients. Is it chillly to day or just me?
Hugs Jo xx

Ooh Take care, Jo ♡ I hope it's nothing serious. Bean, what's with the "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit?" It's all over Facebook, but I thought it might be one of those 'ask and I'm tagged in some chain game' posts. Brand new pool for next year

The rabbits is just that if the month has an R in it, you're supposed to say 'rabbits, rabbits, rabbits' first thing to bring you luck for the month! Some people only say it once, and others don't think the month has to have an R in - they say it every month. But we were always told three times and only with an R - not seriously of course! It's got to be better than the 'pinch, punch - first of the month' though, that hurts!
Sorry to hear you're feeling off colour Jo, hope the doctor can help you. The balance thing has been going on a while now, hasn't it, you must be fed up with it. It's been lovely and warm here today - and the last few days too. Make a nice change from the cool - I'm not quite ready for that yet!
And ssssshhhhhhhhh, thank you!

Thank you very much Piggles love, the doctor doesn't seem to think it is anything serious and has put me on extra pain killers for my right leg; I can hardly use it at the moment. He looked in my ears and found nothing wrong. He was a lovely new doctor but I still feel as if I have come away without issues being sorted. He did say that there isn't a magical solution for these things and of course, he is right. Thank you too Bean honey, yes, it has been going on for a while, in fact, I fell this morning and am just glad the bed was there otherwise I would have gone down with a crash. Thank you my darlings for your concern, it is much appreciated.
Hugs Jo xx

I know what you mean about feeling it's not sorted. There may not be any magical solution, but repeatedly looking in the ears and saying nothing's wrong is useless. I have extensive scarring from the fall.i took while walking, a couple of months ago. I walk with a stick or cane because my ears don't show anything wrong, so there can't be anything wrong Hubby gets great service from doctors, and can't understand why I won't put myself through being fobbed off anymore. I had hoped your doctor would try a bit harder to sort the balance problem, for both of us. I hope the new pain meds help

You should definitely pop back if things haven't improved in a week or so, Jo. I know you have better things to use your energy on than doctors' trips, but they need to take your symptoms a bit more seriously. I appreciate you can't do anything about some things that go wrong with your body, but other things can be helped and if there's something out there that could help you, you should have it. They won't find out unless they look properly. I don't think much is given away by looking in someone's ear!

Thank you my darlings for such lovely concern. You are both absolutely right and I have been told to make anther appointment soon anyway. Started taking pain killers today and feel a bit sick, still, I will have to give them time. No, you are right, I shouldn't be fobbed off. He also did a few tests with me, one was asking me to close my eyes, stretch my arms out either side and find my nose with both hands. Sounds realy silly but apparently I did all right there; apparently this tells them a lot. However, I will be more insistent next time, you are both right. You are sweeties for caring so much, thank you.

Glad you will be going back either way, to make sure you get listened to if you know something isn't right. Hope the tablets stop making you feel nauseous - can you play around with what time you take them and whether you eat with them or not, or do you have to take them in a certain way? Hope you are holding up okay - you have a lot to contend with anyway so having extra symptoms must be wearing and I hope you aren't feeling too fed up xx

How are you feeling today jo? Has your stomach got used to the painkillers? Working in pharmacy I know a lot of drugs and side effects. So if you have any questions I can try my best to help you. Can't promise I know the answer but will try. A lot of people don't realise how much pharm techs know and always demand to see pharmacist for second opinion. I love seeing their face when the pharmacist tells them the except same as us lol! Obviously I always refer them to a pharmacist if it's something I am not sure on. But ailments like cough and cold we are usually spot on :-) xx

Most pills upset my stomach until I stop taking them. I hope you've gotten the new meds sorted, Jo. I don't know about yours, Jo, but my lack of balance comes and goes, and comes in varying intensities. I know it's not an inner ear problem, as that's what all the doctors checked, and it was always fine. I don't know if it's migraine related, because I can totally lose all balance with a bad migraine, or if it's eye/brain related. I lose my balance if something moves past my eyes too quickly, or gets pushed at me too close for me to focus. Daughter and her "kiss my dolly" as she pushed it into my face, and I fell over She and hubby thought it was great fun. Not so much for me.

Thank you Bean love for your kind words, I have such lovely friends on here. Well, second day taking my extra meds and so far so good, feel a little dozy but that is nothing unusual LOL!!
I am not too bad today Glitze honey, bless you. I always have faith in people that work in pharmacies and not just the head honcho. Thank you for offering advice too sweets, that is really kind. The new ones I am on are Paracetemol, Naproxin and Stemetil(Prochlorperzine). If I have any questions I will drop you a line, thank you again.
3Piggles hun, what you have sounds very similar although with me it is mostly when I get up or somethimes if I am just walking somewhere. Migraines are the pits and I consider myself very lucky that I do not have them. The doctor was new and very nice (name Gogh; I think he is Dutch) and from my explaining the symptoms, he said that if it was more serious, I would be in trouble by now, not sure whether to be comforted by that or not LOL!!
Thank you my darlings for your kind replies.

I'm not sure if losing my balance and taking a tumble down a big hill is serious or not in medical jargon Doctors kept insisting I got dizzy. I've had dizzy spells, when I stand up too quickly. I couldn't get them to listen that my balance just goes away. I can't tell up from down, and over I go. Never got a doctor to believe me. Wish I could have gotten it on video! I also have problems with my depth perception going away. It's most noticeable on stairs, when the steps all look the same, but I get it walking on flat surfaces, too. Definitely not inner ear related. I hope get it all sorted, and have doctors who listen.

3Piggles sweetie, you certainly have it worse than I and your doctors really should listen. Going dizzy anytime is bad but on the stairs is really dangerous. Please keep ke updated and I hope you are all right love.

I'm fine, Jo. I walk with a cane or a walking stick, and hold onto railings. Just walking outside that can be dangerous, as that's where I don't have any walls or furniture to grab I don't need to play pin ball, just bounce of walls and furniture, and DING once in a while Different topic: we just got the cable TV rewired in our house. Not an easy task in a four-story townhouse, but it's done. If the cable works the way it's supposed to, I don't mind paying for it. I really, really hope it does. We've had the same cable/internet provider since we moved here. Internet and cable problems have been endless, and each technician redid everything, and blamed the last technician. Such a mess. Hopefully this will be the last time, and everything will run the way it's supposed to. It seems to be, but all the other fixes lasted a couple of days, too. This technician said all the cable boxes will be going WiFi, as so many places have such old, bad wiring, they aren't able to use the signals being broadcast now. By going to WiFi, the signals wouldn't go through wires, and could be more easily controlled, especially in places like ours. He also said that would cost the jobs of all the people who do his job, saving the company a lot of money. Our electric meters all went WiFi a couple of weeks ago, so all the meter readers will be laid off from the electric company.

I hope it carries on working for you love, we have been pretty lucku so far but I hadn't better let it hear me say that LOL!! Most people around here have Sky which requires the dish on the side of the house, I am not sure how many now have cable but I think it is still available. It realy upsets me to hear of people loosing their jobs so fat cats can make even more. It is global and my heart goes out to those affected.
I am glad you are OK 3Piggles hun, when these things happen, we feel so out of control don't we?

So far, so good with the cable. We weren't allowed to have the dishes at the condo until this year. They are just as expensive, and sometimes more expensive than cable. Dishes also have to have a clear path to the signal, so if trees, buildings or mountains are blocking the signal, we can't use a dish. We had a dish at our last house, before cable was available. Every snow storm blocked the signal. I don't think UK gets the weather we get, so that probably isn't a problem for you.

Been there, Jo. There are covers and heating coils available, but that makes having a dish really expensive, and the heating coils run up the electric bill keeping the snow and ice off the dish.
