Oh Bootygurl, did he bring his friends presents? That is lovely, most of the time animals are very much for themselves and not apt to share.

Oh yes he shared with his brothers/cagemates. He was stashing it in their tube. Christmas treats a red and green dinner (red pepper, green pepper, kale, arugula (sp?), grape tomato

When mine were all together in one cage, I used to do a nice Christmas dinner for them. Since they are 2 and 1, I did carrot pieces. They don't get to splurge on carrot very often, and it was only 1/3 each, but since they normally get really small pieces, they were thrilled. Momos cheeks were orange

She's a pretty clean eater so far. The rats on the other hand...they had red and orange everywhere from nibbling on their pepper and then stepping over each other

Do you have the water in bowls? Bowls foul really quickly. I use bottles. If you can, try putting the bowls on shelf, so every kickoff doesn't kick everything into the bowls

I thought about doing that love, we could put one on their pen as well as a water bowl, we have several somewhere so I think I will find it and see what I can do.

I like glass bottles. They don't warp and you can run a bit of vinegar and lemonjiuce through them and they are clean as day 1

I have the standard plastic bottles, and they've been great. Mine are about 15 years old, and still in great shape. They have the nozzle with the ball bearing in it, so need to filled to the absolute top to create the vacuum, and stop the bottle from letting go. I've tried some others with other means of keeping the water in the bottle, but they didn't work very well. I don't think I've ever seen glass bottles.

I live in Canada....maybe they are only available in stores here. Superpet and living world make them. They come in 3 sizes I have a few of each.

I'll check online, just to satisfy my curiosity. They may well be Canada-only.

Not at Petco, Petsmart of Doctors Foster&Smith. I haven't checked agricultural supply sites, but I haven't seen any glass bottles at the feed and grain store.

I finally googled glass water bottles for guinea pigs, and did find a few, but not at any of the stores I know or frequent online. I am totally afraid of snakes, and since most pet stores sell them, now, I can't go into the stores to shop. I have been shopping the stores I know, online, and none of the glass bottles I found were at those stores.
I have no problem with my plastic bottles, as long as they are filled to the absolute top to create a vacuum, so they don't leak or let go. As for cleaning the bottles, I have some good brushes that get under the rim, so I can get the bottles really clean. A hummingbird feeder cleaning brush works great. I don't have a wire cage, so the bottles are hung on fiberboard. I'm not sure the fiberboard would hold glass bottles.

The glass may not hold on fibre board. I like with the glass that I can use really hot water to clean them. I keep warping the plastic ones and you don't have to fill them to the tippytop to create the vacuum. Its actually suggested to leave an inch or two to create the vacuum with them. Might be hard if you dontq go to a store. And I understand the snake thing. What I would do is go to the counter if you don't know where they are in the store and ask an associate to get one for you to look at so you don't end up near the snakes.
