I still have my Dale Earnhardt fanny pack, lol It's leather and has his NASCAR number and logo, and his signature. Fanny packs were all the rage for a long time, and still haven't gone out of style. They just became sort of a sign of tourists, like a camera hanging around someones neck.

Just trying to get the mental image that 'fanny pack' conjures up out of my head...! I think I am right in saying that in Australia sellotape is called durex, fancy going into WH Smith's and asking for Durex LOL!! Ha! Or worse, someone naive asking for Durex and being given sellotape and not realising it was the wrong thing... Sorry Bootygurl, you talk about your lovely piggies and this rotten lot just lower the tone every time!

Haha no problem. I don't mind people talking. Ya round here if you asked for durex you would either be asked what kind or just get a blushing worker and a finger pointed to the family planning aisle!

That's right If sellotape is what I think it is, cellophane tape, it's called Scotch Tape here in the use. Scotch is actually a brand name, sort of like you UKers hoovering with a Dyson, but everyone knows what it is. It used to be yellowish, when I was a kid, so it always showed on packages. Made wrapping presents look kind of yucky. Then it came out in clear, and we thought we'd won the lottery, lol. Now it comes in colors. All still the same stuff.

I think you got it right. Sellotape is scotch tape. Now it comes clear, matte, coloured, checkered plaid! And Durex is not tape here haha! Its a contraceptive product.

So to update on Booty and Chi-chi they are living together during the day and separate at night. Exept lastnight when I gave in to Chi-chi's cries to go back into the big cage with Booty. They popped & danced around and sang happily. Match made! Though Booty-Girl still wont share the big pigloo yet, but she'll let Chi-chi in it and sleep at the door haha like she doesn't know she also fits in there with her! I can tell their wheeks apart which is kind of nice. I can tell if its just Booty wanting something for a treat or Chi-chi testing out her voice haha

That sounds great! I don't think it's unusual for one pig to not want to share a pigloo with another - quite a few members who have well bonded pigs say their pigs never cuddle up and sleep together. Sounds like your two are getting along just fine!

I've never had a pair or herd share a pigloo, but I have multiple housing/hiding places around the cage, so no one is ever left out. I think most pigs are very territorial. In the confines of the cage, the only real territory they can claim is the sleeping area. Morty takes up a whole pigloo, and would probably do better with a bunnyloo, so there's really no sharing with him.
I did have a large, low cardboard box I cut multiple windows and doors in, and used that as the house in the cage. That went over well, as each pig seemed to have their own space inside the box. The box was probably 2x4'x6", so it was a big box.
Try draping towels over the cage sides in different places, and removing the pigloo. That way they have pass through hiding places/houses/sleeping areas in different places.

I have other hideys in there. I have a wood cave and a tree stump hidey. Booty doesn't go far from Chi-chi now. She may in time. We are going to look for a bigger hidey regardless.

Apart from their tent and a few other places, my two love to hide themselves in hay. Sometimes you just see a little nose poking out, it is so cute.

Hay and guinea pigs go together Mine do everything from hiding in it and bouncing it around, to bulldozing it across the cage, to jumping in it If I use a hay holder, they find a way to get in, and pull out a whole lot of hay they don't eat. I figure it's waste and play hay. They loved the hay cakes, which are cylindrical disks, as they could push or roll the disks around the cage. Anything can be a toy and provide endless entertainment, to pigs

Holly my bunny always drags hay out of her box and if anything is in our bed like clothing, she will nudge it onto the floor.

I love hearing pet stories. It shows how varied they are in personality and temperament. All of my pigs have been rearrangers, but not all the same way. Few of my pigs have used their voices, leaving that to the pig with the loudest voice. I've had an explorer pig, who had to check around the next corner or through the next doorway, and pigs that didn't want to roam far from home. I've had a pig that would get through any barrier, just to get through it, and others who let even the weakest barrier dissuade them from going through. I've had the shoulder sitters, back of neck sitters, lap pigs and ones who found any opening in any sleeve, and made my arm into a hidey. I've had sweet, low key pigs and jumpers. I love letting them be who they are, and enjoying them for it

I love piggie stories too, our two will whistle as soon as anything rustles and I have to remind them sometimes that it is mummy's lunch as the slaves have to eat too LOL!!

We went to the piggy room after 10 last night, and even rustling the plastic bag didn't get them to jump out of their snuggly pigloos for a snack. They did get treats in the end, when they all decided to drag themselves out into the cold We had to check if we filled the humidifier, as neither of us could remember.
