Hello my lovely friends
They took me in with much pain last week and they they thought it was pancreatic but it turns out I have an infected gallbladder with stones. I am home now but they are doing the operation in 6 weeks time. It was hell being away from the Piggies and Holly. Missed you all to bits.
Lots of loves and cuddles.

Oh no, Jo! I'm sorry you've been so poorly and been in hospital - I was hoping you'd just been busy or maybe had a little problem with your internet connection. I've heard gallbladder pain and gallstones are horribly painful, so it's awful you've had to go through that and have an operation ahead too. Let's hope after that you start feeling a lot more comfortable. I bet Paul and the animals were all very pleased to have you back home, and I'm sure you are enjoying being back, even if you're still not feeling great. Take it easy and it's lovely to see you back on again as we missed you. x

Oh Jo you poor thing! So are they giving you anything for pain and to control the gallbladder infection between now and when you have the operation? I hope so, because 6 weeks is a long time to be in pain while waiting for surgery. I'm sure it must have been so hard to be away from your animals, and you must be so glad to be back home now.

Oh, no!!! I was just saying to hubby last night that I was worried about you not being on the forum. I'm glad you know what it is, and it can be treated. So sorry about all the pain. That just makes life hard to manage, even at the best of times. I really hope you have something to help with the pain. Six weeks is a long time to wait for relief!

Thank you my darlings for your really kind replies. Yes they have given me antibiotics and I am already on strong painkillers so I am coping really well. They sad they may have been able to do it today but ny maybe and it would be indefinite the time I would be in there so opted for. Yes the worst part was being away from Hlly, she has been all over me since I returned. Thanks my lovies, I missed you all to and I am so glad to be back.

I thought you might be on an antibiotic for the infection. Since hubby works for a company that tracks medical activity, I've learned a lot more about the processes. I'm glad it's not too painful for you right now, and hope the surgery really helps!

At least you'll be prepared for it next time when you go in - being admitted as an emergency must have been a bit of a shock so I'm not surprised you chose the option of knowing where you were going to be and when. You probably didn't even get to pack your own bag last time.

You are right Bean lovey, this time I can plan for it, it is a nightmare being admitted in a rush. I managed to pack a few things but I wasn't thinking straight and had to rely on Paul to bring things the next day. . Hugs JO xx

Emergencies are good times for us to think straight, that's for sure. I remember a story the birthing coach told, when I was pregnant. The wife went into labor, told her hubby to grab the suitcase she had packed for the occasion. He grabbed the sewing machine in it's case, instead. She ended up at the hospital, in full labor, with a sewing machine. He didn't even want to leave her long enough to get the suitcase Definitely pack the things you know you want to have with you, so the next trip will go more smoothly.

I called the doctor, when I went into labor, and he said to go to the hospital. The birthing class teacher said once in the hospital, no more food, so we went out for a pizza on the way. Glad we did, as I was in labor for 54 hours, before the doctor decided to do a C-section That has been our funny story, since when we finally arrived, everyone had been waiting for us

Luckily, I got anethesia to put me to sleep for the C-section, so I got to have a good, drugged sleep. I was no more able to look after myself than I was to look after her, at that point. Hubby got a nap during the procedure, and was ready to greet his new baby girl while I slept His mom and dad came up from Florida for a week, to help, but hubby was trying to do everything. At one point he put all the used bottles in the bottle washer, put it on the stove and forgot about it. Boiled out all the water, melted the bottles and they caught fire. We had a wood stove, so he grabbed the gloves for handling burning logs, and used those to carry the flaming pan outside. After than, we got him to slow down and take a breath So much has changed since then, and I think doctors are a lot more capable of telling when there's a problem, than they were when daughter was born. Her due date was a month earlier, but because the doctor couldn't feel her head, he kept slipping the due date. Then when I went into labor, same thing. He waited 54 hours to do the C-section, and find out that her head was 12cm, and the birth canal only dilates 10cm. So she wasn't ever going to come out that way, and I could have had the C-section and been home in a matter of hours. Apparently a lot of doctors were scheduling unnecessary C-sections in the 70s, so by the time daughter came along in 81, it was taboo to push for a C-section. I really wish doctors would just do a thorough job, rather than going by trends. It would have been a whole lot easier on me. The woman who was in labor for 72 hours was sitting beside us at an ice cream parlor. We were talking about the labor, and she chimed in. She was a lot older, maybe in her 70s, so her labor predated my birth. Daughter was in labor for about 6 hours, had her friends with her in the birthing room for support, and stayed in that room after the birth, until she was ready to go home, one day, if I remember correctly.

I don't know if it is the same there Piggles love but over here they do not keep you in hospital once you have had a baby unless there is something wrong. They used to keep you in for a week.

I needed an 11 pint blood transfusion. They were keeping me until my blood pressure leveled out, which it didn't, so they did the blood transfusion. I got to go home the next day I had 3 roommates while I was in there. Everyone else got to go home.

Oh sweetie, that is awful. I hope the new 3 were nice. When I had my hysterectomy there were 4 of us but when I was in recently there were 6.

Hi Jo, I'm so sorry to hear about your gallstones. How are you feeling? I know when I was in Wyoming last year for medical treatments I found myself missing my piggies too. It is tough being away from them.
