Yes. I think the fact that they suffer and come through it, have a great human and piggy support group around them, just overcomes issues that worried them enough to stay quiet. I'm so glad he's come out of his shell, and is talking so much. I love talkers

Have any of you had a similar experience with a gp suddenly finding his voice after being nearly silent before? My new one, Deo, didn't make a sound when we first got him. Within a week, he started to wheek a little. He's still a little quiet compared to Oscar, but gets in his share, especially when there's treats coming!

The girls were like that, watching everything Morty did, but not sure they wanted to try it themselves. Then Noodles got gutsy, and even vies with Morty for his treats. Oodles is still a scaredy pig, but she's slowly getting more relaxed and gutsy, too Now they both wheek for treats, so they have to learn that they don't get the treats until they stop wheeking. Morty doesn't join them, so they'll learn quickly

At one time we had 21 piggies and they all used to wheek for their treats at the same time, it was deafening LOL!!

I used to have terrible insomnia, and would be up and about the house at all hours of the night. I didn't want the wheeky chorus to wake the whole household, so I had to train them to not wheek for treats. They do learn quickly, though I think they younger they are, the harder it is for them to curb their enthusiasm

Oh Piggles love, I am sorry to hear you suffered with insomnia, I bet that was no mean feat teaching them to be quiet at that time of the morning.

It was actually pretty easy. They are very smart, and learn quickly that wheeking gets them nothing. Only rattling a plastic bag drives them so nuts, they can't help buy wheek Harlequin used to give one long, loud wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeek, to tell me they were out of food or water. She was my alarm pig
