How's Deo doing? Hope the weekend brought more improvements. Has the vet given him any pain meds? Being more comfortable might make him more likely to eat and move around. Fingers crossed for recover.

I was just saying to hubby last night that I hoped Deo was getting better!

No real improvement, unfortunately. Deo whines when he's lifted up and therefore makes little effort to move around. When we do lift him to his feet, he'll drink and eat, but when I leave for work, he's in the same spot when I come home.
I've done everything I can, and it's starting to wear me down. I'm not giving up, but I just want to see Deo back the way he was.
We're running low on medication; it might be time for another trip to the vet. I would have done it today, but my car is having engine trouble and I need to get that looked at- I can't afford to get stuck somewhere.
Gonna be another rough week.

I'm really sorry to hear Deo's not looking any better, you're obviously working hard to get him better. Sounds like he needs some further diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the problem and what can be done to help him.

I'm so sorry Deo isn't improving. Definitely get him back to the vet as soon as you can manage, or give the vet a call. The vet may have a change of meds for you, or a continuation of the meds, and that will save you the cost of an office visit. Lots of hugs, and I'm pulling for him to get better. I hope you engine trouble wasn't too costly!

Sorry about the delay, folks- occasionally real life gets in the way of my internet time.
Deo has another appointment with the vet on Saturday (the earliest I could get)
Sometimes he seems like he's getting better; he's eating more and has more energy, the most recent issue is that he's having trouble getting to his feet. We can help him, and when he's standing he'll be okay for several minutes. Then, he'll fall over and stay there.
Sometimes he stays in one spot all day. Other times, when I come home from work he's moved around, sometimes he'll even be in his pigloo.
I can't figure it out. He's trying, though. I'm just running low on meds, although I'm still giving him Bene-bac and Critical Care. He's also eating hay, but he'll eat it during the day when I'm at work.
The weather has been gorgeous, however, and I've been bringing them outside for some grazing. As a special treat, they've been munching on apples from the tree in my yard!
Oh, and my engine repair cost me $548. Steep, but I set money aside for this sort of thing, so although it hurts, I'm not destitute. (and can still afford vet visits.)

Fingers cross for Deo ,does he eat veg or fruit ? Both my piggies get lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatos and carrots for snacks. I generally try to avoid giving them sugar, and in most cases Oscar doesn't like sweets anyway. (We gave him a grape once, but he ignored it.) Deo, on the other hand, enjoys an occasional thin slice of watermelon. When I had them outside yesterday they both nibbled on apples, so I guess Oscar's okay with it. Again everyone, I appreciate the well-wishes. I cleaned out the cages today and decided to not stuff Deo's cage with double the amount of bedding. He's tended to burrow into it and put himself at the bottom anyway, so more bedding hasn't helped. Also, it might be difficult for him to walk around, so let's see what happens. When I put him down for the night, he was eating his pellets and remaining standing. (For those coming in late to the thread, we doubled his bedding to help wick away the urine that was scalding him from laying in it all day.)

He's obviously a fighter as it's quite unusual for a pig who's not eating properly on their own to keep going for very long. I hope the vet can shed some light and get him back to his usual self.

Maybe mention to your vet yo give to him b complex,I don't know if they can drink orange juice for extra vitamin c,I know mine eat orange slices, just a tough. Try the poop soup maybe it will perk him up. Again I'm just thinking aloud .

Try putting Deo and Oscar on a hard surface, just a small, enclosed area with something waterproof under foot, and a bit of hay/treats for them. That will show you if Deo can get around, but needs more solid footing. If he gets around easily with the hard surface under foot, try just putting towels in the bottom of the cage for now, and see if he gets around on those, better. I'm glad he's showing signs of improvement. It really may just be the bedding under foot that's giving him trouble.

I think he may still be bloated, as he tries not to move and whines when he is picked up- I do this to move him out of the area he's urinated in. He is pooping, but in big mounds, and not small easy to clean up pellets. There's not enough medicine left, so I just stopped, except for the spray for his urine scalds. I did offer him a fresh poop from Oscar; he glanced at it and immediately backed off, giving me one of his patented "Are you OUT of your ****ING MIND?" looks. (I guess I have to disguise it.)
