So 3 weeks later and the boys are doing great together, although Rocky still continues to rumble strut (especially around the many pigloos, think I'm gonna end up taking a cutoff wheel and carving back exits in them and then filing and sanding the edges smooth). They don't fight over food although they will steal it from each other as I try to feed them at separate ends of the cage to mitigate conflict. Both Fred and Rocky are sleek, soft, and getting a bit chubby. They both run up to the side of the cage and wheek excitedly when they hear me grabbing a bag of hay or pellets, or the sound of me preparing their dinner in the kitchen. They'll sleep, not quite touching, inside the box in the center of the cage (first place I check in the morning and when I come home from work).
I am a little worried about Fred though. I know with the fleece bedding and the frequent changes I shouldn't have to worry about doing boar cleaning but it seems that the past few days during nightly pig inspection (during cuddle time) he's had clumps hay and hair matted in his anal sac. I've been keeping him clean daily and he's extremely docile while I do it and even more so afterwards (I imagine having wads of hay/hair clumps in your bum isn't very comfortable). What I'm concerned about is if he was eating his cecal feces properly shouldn't he be keeping himself clean? I've seen nothing but good healthy poos in the cage (and my word are there ever a lot, it seems the boys spur each other). Do I just need to keep an eye on this or should I be getting ready to take him to a vet?
