I have two male guinea pigs. both brothers. i got one a day ago, butterscotch, and he was doing fine. then today, a day later, i went and got one of his brothers, biscuit. I wasnt able to get them both at the same time but i thought id be okay since they were both from the same litter. so today when i brought biscuit home and put him with butterscotch, who was the runt of the litter; they were fine and then biscuit started chasing and bothering butterscotch. i cant separate them or put anything to separate them. theyll be okay one minute and then biscuit will chase butterscotch the next. what should i do, will they stop soon?

It sounds like they're trying to determine who is the boss pig. As long as there is no serious fighting (drawing blood, etc.), I'd just keep a close eye on things and let them sort it out. If it does turn nasty, however, you'll need to have some way to separate them. Good luck!

Hello and welcome I agree with bongosfriend. Once they change locations, they need to be rebonded. Try putting them in a neutral place with a pile of hay and room to move around. If you're short on space, use the bathtub, drain stopper in place. Tgen remove everything from the cage, wash cage and everything to remove all piggy scent, put in new bedding, replace the cleaned houses, bowls, dishes, etc., and rearrange the items, if possible. Then put the boys bsck in. You added the new boy to a cage his brother had already claimed with his scent. They will still go through the dominance establishing routines, but they start at the same point. Also, two males take more than twice as much space as one, as males are very territorial. It's good to have two of everything, so one can't bully the other out of food, water or housing. The hay should be easily available to both. It sounds like a lot, but it makes a lot easier. Good luck

Hello and welcome Without hearing the noise, it's probably rumble strutting. That's a dominance dance guinea pigs do to establish who is going to be top pig. They are very hierarchical, so that's the first thing they establish. As long as no blood is drawn, and neither pig is being bullied into cowering in a corner or not getting the food/water it needs, let them work it out. It may seem extreme to us, but they understand it.
