Hello! My name is Galaxyality I'm new on this Fourm. I am Currently the Mommy to two Wonderful Pets. Lets start with Cream he is my 11 month old Shorthaired Syrian Hamster. I also have A GuineaPig named Meringue that I just got today he is sharing his Home with his "Brother" Bruno. I'm hoping to seek some good Guinea Pig Care on here.
Question~
When a Male GP Gets on top of a Male GP what does that mean?

Hello and welcome to Wheekers! Your pets sound lovely, we love pictures if you have any! Here's a great page of info on introductions - how you manage your pigs meeting can make a massive difference to how well they get along. It also has a list of behaviours that are normal and ones which indicate there may be escalating tension. Mounting is a dominance behaviour - whatever the gender of the pigs being introduced, you will likely see a lot of it as they work out who's going to be in charge!

Hello and welcome Sounds as if you have a fine bunch of furbabies Male guinea pigs need more space than sows, though the more space they have, the more active they are, and the more they show their personalities. I recommend going for the 3 pig size of cage for two boars, have two of everything (water bottles, food bowls and houses), and give them as much space as possible to run around. Pigs will race around the cage at very high speeds, up and over obstacles, in and under obstacles, and it helps them use excess energy they will otherwise put into bothering each other. I call these races "zoomies" as they zoom around the cage really fast. If you don't have space for a large cage, try creating a pen on the floor where they can zoom There are many small pet playpens available in pet stores or online, but even just using items you have to secure a large area for them in a corner, or letting them run loose in an easy to clean bathroom, does the trick www.guineapigcagesstore.com/about-candccages

Adorable The link I listed takes you to a page of C&C cages. That stands for cubes and coroplast. The cubes are made by using round or square connectors(whichever comes with the grids) to connect square, wire grids into different shaped structures. When making the C&C cage, the grids are connected in sides and bottom to create a rectangular cage. A lid can also be created, and hinged onto one side to provide protection from kids and other pets, though I've found cats generally either just observed the pigs in their cage, or get in the cage and slept with them. I think the latter depends on the size of the cage and available room for a cat. The grids can also be connected to create a base for the cage, and provide storage under the cage. The bigger the cage, the more storage underneath. If you buy a cage set from Cavy Cages, you can also buy the drawers, which I haven't seen in stores. The grids, however, are available in many stores, just make sure they are 10x10 grids, as small pigs can get their heads stuck in grids with fewer divisions and larger openings. A really good sized cage takes about 2 boxes of grids, and that allows enough grids to build lofts at each end, but not to build a cover. Boxes of grids cost between $20 and $50, depending on the brand and where you buy them. I get mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $20 a box. www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/grid-wire-modular-shelving-and-storage-cubes/1016719773?skuId=16719773&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_storage_&adpos=1o1&creative=43742658229&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQiA4eqyBRDUh7Omv9vCtsoBEiQAspfs8qL3SC5TebHqEXxg3pH9q-pKoQNICe8j9A6-TUF934EaAkuh8P8HAQYou can get an idea of the wide range of stores and prices, if you search for "grid storage cubes." www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=grid%20storage%20cubesCoroplast is corrugated plastic used for signs. It is sometimes available in sign shops for a certain price for a 4'x8' sheet, which is too big to get in most vehicles. I've found 2'x3' or 2'x4' pieces in Home Depot and Lowe's, and those have served pretty well. You can also create a wooden base for the sides, cover it with a piece of linoleum, and it will be waterproof and easy to clean. Many linoleum stores have remnants for really reduced prices, which are perfect for a cage bottom. You can staple or screw it to the wood instead of gluing it, should you want to change it later. This gives you a good idea of what coroplast is, though most places only sell it in white: www.coroplast.com/catalog/coroplast/If you cut half way through the coroplast, it will bend to either fit in your car or make a bottom on sides of a cage. I think Guinea Pig Cages may sell different colors of coroplast and sell it pre-cut to fit the size cage you're buying. It will just cost more to have them do all the work for you, and you still have to assemble the cage when it arrives. This is the Ebay link to guinea pig cages, and there are C&C cages available here, too, as well as other types of cages. Midwest cages are expandable, if you have the space to expand, and can be connected in different configurations: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=guinea%20pig%20cages&ssPageName=GSTLI hope you can get some great ideas for the new cage from these links.
