When I view a thread, it's always in oldest post first order. If a thread had hundreds of pages, I then have to jump to last page. Is there any way to show the posts in newest first order? This is on my phone but it might be the same on the PC.

On the thread title, do you get the 'new' icon coming up to the left of the thread title (which means there are new posts since you last viewed the thread)? That should take you straight to the point in the thread that you haven't yet viewed.
As default the posts do display in date order though, with oldest first. Just had a quick check and can't see any setting for changing that unfortunately.

If I go into each forum, I see the New icon. But I always use 'Recently Updated Posts' to save me going into each forum. If I click a post there, it just takes me to the first post in the thread.

Yes, I see what you mean about looking at the recently updated posts - if you click on that thread it does go to the first page. And if you press 'quote' to reply from there (you can always deleter the quoted section if you don't want to quote someone), it doesn't show the recent replies so you can make sure you've seen them all.
I can imagine that responding from a phone, these things are more annoying than if you're on a full sized screen.

Shades, what app are you using, or are you going through the Internet? I tried Tapatalk, and it started out being user friendly, then started adding other forums I was on long ago, suggesting forums I didn't want, and generally making it hard to figure out what was Wheekers and what wasn't. Once I did, it was hard to figure out the navigator. It was originally a really easy way to post pictures, but even that seemed to get lost in all the extras they added.

Before this week I was using the Boat browser on my phone. It's OK for reading only. I just think the Android version of the Proboards software is not designed with usability in mind. I've also noticed that it behaves differently depending on how I connect to the internet.
I initially tried Tapatalk for another forum with hundreds of messages every hour but that didn't work for me. In frustration I installed Tapatalk again and, for Wheekers, it's much more user-friendly although too often I can't connect to the forum server.

I'm having trouble connecting to the server, too, and even once I connect, it keeps freezing on me. I've only done a few posts this morning, and it's already frozen on me 3 times. I may try Tapatalk again, but I type so much faster on the computer keyboard, and I have a 24" screen on this computer, I hate going back to typing on my phone.
