Ha! I love that song, great pick!
Rather you than me having a trumpet player in the house though! My son dabbled with the saxophone and it was a long fortnight...

We were talking about Christmas caroles in one thread, not sure which. While I really like the old ones like Silent Night, I also really love this one:
For anyone who doesn't know, a canon in music, is a composition for two or more voices that sing complimentary melodies/words, sometimes starting and ending at different times. Rounds such as Row, Row, Row You Boat, that we used to sing as kids at camp, is a form of canon.

I don't know that one, or the group. Watching some of New Year's Rockin Eve, I realized just how out of touch I am with the music scene. If we didn't watch the Victoria's Secrets fashion shows, which have live entertainment, I don't think I'd know any of the current groups. I remember thinking this back when the Beatles first broke on the scene. I could understand everything they sang, and nothing they said. Listening to that lead singer, I couldn't understand him while he was talk singing, but once he started singing, I could understand him. Someone who was supposed to know these things said it was about the breathing for singing versus talking. That was back in the 60s, when no one understood the Beatle's interviews

I haven't kept up with the music scene since the 90's love. The only time I ever listen to the radio is when I am in the car.

It's only because of the kids I have a vague idea what's going on in the modern world of music! Last night we were about to switch the tv off until we noticed there was a Top of the Pops from the 80 on - I was in my element!

I think it always helps if you have youngsters Bean love, you are bound to know more about their world and the people they like. I feel very out of touch.
