Hello everyone! I would love to get to know everyone and their piggies. I would also like to introduce my piggies I have 2 girls, Sady and Mrs K. My only options for getting guinea pigs were petshops and Kijiji. I chose Kijiji because i thought it would be better to get them from someone who couldn't take care of them. They came in a small cage (25" x 13") They were on newspaper that was layer over layer covering up their poop and pee. They hadn't had hay a day in their lives, and they ate the 2 carrots i gave them like it was their first meals in a life time!!!! The people before had gotten them from the SPCA, h=and had named them Sady and Mrs K. They are 2.5 years old. Mrs K seemed to have some type of sniffles, but that cleared up quite quick. They both had nails that curled all they way around a couple times. It was horrible. I cleaned off their bellies, cut their nails, and gave them a cup of veggies each. they now live in a 4x2 C&C Cage with a 1x2 area that comes off the side. I hope to have my little girls for many years to come, and i love them very much Love, Jade Me and Sady:

Aww, what sad conditions they came from. I'm so happy you could take these two girls and give them the life they deserve.

Hello and a warm welcome to Wheekers!
Thank you for giving these lovely girls a fresh start and the care they need and deserve - I bet they can't believe their luck! Sady is a beauty!
I've got four pigs, two (sterile!) couples; Cadders and Poppy and Josh and Rocky. All jolly good fun!

Hello and welcome I'm so glad you rescued those piggies from such a horrible life. They know what you've done for them, and will always love you for it. They must be having such a fabulous time with all the new, clean space, the foods and hay

Hello! I love the story of how you rescued your sweet piggies. I love the pic of Sady. She sure is cute! I have two recently adopted male guinea pigs. Charcoal and Flint. They are about 2 1/2- 3 months old. I'm in the process of introducing them and getting them into the same cage right now. Slow but surely. I'll be totally asking you for nail trimming advice!

My piggies nails were so bad, but luckily, they sat somewhat still to trim them. I recommend getting small pet nail clippers, because its easier to see the quick. Much easier then human clippers. Its really all the advice i can give you because I've only cut their nails once! (I got them on April 6th 2016)

Aww they're gorgeous! There are some seriously funky hairdos going on there!
Most members have one thread in this forum which we update with any new photos and news about them - it means you have a thread that basically works like a diary, and anyone wanting to see your pigs or find out what they're up to just has one place to go to. If you like the idea and want me to merge the posts you've made up to now, let me know and I can do it for you.

Glad clipping their nails wasn't too bad. It can be a terrible job, if you get very wiggly pigs I've had drama queens and kings who carried on as if I were murdering them, and I've had sweet blobs who just loved the attention.

We always have to take our to the vet for their nails but they are done by the nurses who are a lot quicker than we two and can actually see what they are doing. It is also a very fair prices as the nurses do it.

That's a great cage! Well designed with the storage underneath too. Did you make it yourself?
Those little tents are brilliant!
