Aww cute! She looks as bright as a button - I bet she keeps you on your toes! Well, the floodgates have opened on Christmas here this morning - I've been holding the kids off from waffling on about it on the grounds it was too early, so they'd been waiting for today... Advent calendars open and about 12 Christmas songs sung before 8am! Lots of chattering about decoration plans for the weekend too.

Wey Hey, it is here, my favourite month of the year!! Kitty is absolutely gorgeous, we have one that looks just like her living next door. Is she friendly? It sounds great at your place Bean hunni, the spirit of Christmas really coming through.

Just as a side note, I like the Christmas-themed wallpaper we have now. (I know it's only a little extra decoration, but I like that subtlety.)

I'm glad you appreciate it, and also that you're content with just that. We do have a load of Christmas smilies too, and when we were busier and had more staff, someone else used to change them over every year. Smilies have never been my thing so I'm low on motivation to sort it out!

Yes I agree with you Baz love, the Christmas piggies on here are just gorgeous. I know I am going to make myself look really stupid here (nothing new there lol) but how is it done please?

The image at the top with the pigs on saying Wheekers was drawn for us by one of our members when we started up - a talented young lady called Alix. The two pigs it features are one of my old pigs (Tefal) and one of Jackie's (Sweetpea I think), who I started the forum with all those years ago.
Alix adapted it and did us several versions for the time of year - in addition to the Christmas one,we also have autumn, Easter and Halloween ones, but I'm not always very good at remembering to swap it!
We had another talented member called Merry who drew all the guinea pig icons for us - we were very lucky as it makes the forum look so much nicer than using the generic images.

Thank you for explaining that to me Bean love. Was it this guinea pig forum that used to have piggies purring noises in the background when you visited?

Ha, no! Sounds funny, although I do get annoyed by any sounds or videos that run automatically when you load a webpage, so I'd probably have tired of it quickly!

We've definitely never had sounds here. I'm wondering if cavy madness had it?
We've got our tree up! I went off the idea of a real one when my friend told me what hers had cost last year... But I like our artificial one and the kids have done a good job decorating it - I just have to rein them in with putting the flashy functions on the lights or I feel like I'm at a rave!

I think it may have been Bean hunni, I know it was a long time ago. Ha ha, I like flashing lights but they send Paul (more lol) loopy. They are up there with the singing christmas trees as far as he is concerned lol!! I am glad the kiddies have decorated it nicely, it is something they so love to do. I know I did and still do. Hey Ho everyone Super busy weekend, but we had a good time. Saw the Christmas lights at the race track Saturday, after we had dinner with daughter and family. Well worth the $20/vehicle entry fee. Yesterday was football day, until midnight last night, when my Seattle Seahawks beat the Carolina Panthers 40-7. Late night. Hubby didn't manage to stay up past 10 p.m., but that's okay. Got a lot of shopping done in between, which was hard on me. Wet weather was moving in, and all the shopping is on concrete floors, which does me in quickly. It's been snowing since around 7 a.m. We had 2 inches last time I checked, and it's been snowing for almost an hour since. We were supposed to get a dusting to 2 inches. Oops The back yard looks beautiful with snow on the rocks and trees. Beautiful cat, Shades. Some cats have really pretty faces. I've only had one with a beautiful face, but it stands out. I definitely understand the tree photo! I've removed many a cat from a Christmas tree, as well as spent a lot of time and effort trying to find ways to keep them out of the trees. Merry did some great guinea pig drawings Christmas is everywhere here, too. I do love all the Christmas decorations in the stores and on the houses, but after a couple of Christmases working retail, with piped in Christmas musak, I try to avoid the stores at the holidays. If I never hear Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer again, I'm fine with that!

Glad the lights were good fun! And snow too, lovely - hope it wasn't too much work for hub to clear before work!
It's been really cold here for the last few days, but plenty of sunshine. I think it's due to get much milder, but more along the wet and windy side of things which is less fun!
All the Christmas parties and concerts are coming up - the schools break up next Friday. So having gone from spending a few weeks telling everyone to pipe down about it, I guess I should start thinking about Christmas now!

Our back yard with snow: Car, and I'm not going to clear it off or remove any snow until the snow stops falling: The neighborhood: I can't tell if the snow has stopped or not. One neighbor is out clearing the snow off his lawn, probably so his puppy has someplace to play.

Glad you had a great time Piggles love and thanks for the great pictures. It would be so nice to see snow here for Christmas. Your schools break up a lot earlier than ours, when I was little it was always around the 21st and we were only there half a day, ending the term with a carol service in the church next door. That is our forecast for this week Bean hunni, temperatures being unusually warm for this time of year. I like it to be cold, it is more seasonal. Clearing snow for puppy to play, that is so sweet.

Kitty is absolutely gorgeous, we have one that looks just like her living next door. Is she friendly? I'm not able to compare her with any other cats, but she's just wonderful. She's all the things you could ask for in a cat. She's confident and comfortable around the home. Loves to play either alone or with us; she rarely scratches too. And she definitely knows how to be cute. We don't have a cage so she's got free rein in the house. So when someone comes home, she'll race to the door, then go back inside and lie on her side waiting on being stroked along her body. Then when she's happy with that, she get up and stroll across to her food area. She's got us wrapped around her little paws I honestly thought things would be more chaotic with her climbing all over the place but next to nothing has been broken. She's very careful when she moves around. More than some kids I know What surprises me most is the range of vocal sounds she makes; she rarely meows but definitely makes baby noises, acknowledges a "hello cat", and groans when she's not happy with sth/sb

Shades, I don't think I've ever heard a cat meow. All of ours were talkers, very vocal, and as you said, quite a range of sounds. After a while, we understood some sounds to mean some things, and other generally meant happy, angry, annoyed, etc. I'm glad she's easy to have around, as they can be very destructive. She may enjoy the guinea pigs company enough to not feel left behind when you two leave, and not need to take out her frustration on her surroundings. I left all the snow where it was until hubby got home, mainly because I was doing so many other things, I never got past putting my boots by the couch to put them on, and I'm sticking to that excuse I also wanted him to be the first to try the new snowblower. He did our driveway and paths in no time, then did the same for the woman next door, who wasn't home from work yet. I thought I'd post some pictures of the lights we have up for Christmas. Not all of them, but the back porch lights were buried in the snow, and hubby hasn't decided if he's going to add more lights. Side door: The tree in the back yard, came with the property, and we're keeping all the conifers. We hope to get lights on all of them, and put a light sensor on them so they turn on when it's dark, and off when it's light: Santa guarding the front door. He's animatronic. The arm holding the hat goes up and down:

Oooh lovely festive pictures! Looks like you are enjoying having fewer restrictions on your outdoor festive decorations, and I'm sure all your neighbours are too!

She sounds amazing Shades love, kitties are very good at moving without knocking things off, they are so agile. All ours have meowed when they want feeding piggles hun and they won't stop until their wish is granted lol!! What lovely Christmas lights, a few people around here have done themselves proud with their external festive lights, it is a pleasure to see.
