Aw, now that's the way to dress a piggy, in a portrait Beautiful I know someone in England who will do a water color of Muffin, if you send her a picture. I have no idea what she charges, but she did a water color of my late Zippy and Dallas, and I love it. If you want her name, just let me know

Flash mob from 2012 playing an abridged version of Beethoven's 9th symphony, 4th movement!
It's a beautiful thing.

Wow! That was fabulous. I loved the little girl who climbed the light pole and was conducting I also loved the little girl who put money in, and stood there for most of the concert Great way to bring people together. Thank you for that

Thank you for that My pleasure; my father forwarded that to me and I knew I had to share it here. He loves Italy and anything related to it.

I'm trying to find evidence that this is a put-on, but sadly, I think it may very well be real:
It's feasible that half my fellow Americans may truly be that stupid.

Oh, it's real. I don't think it's just a republican problem, either, though I like to think it takes some brains to be a democrat, they aren't superior, by any means. There was a US TV series called How the States Got Their Shapes. It was really interesting, but the man going around to all the states and talking to people would ask residents to draw their own state, and most of them couldn't draw anything even closely resembling the state where they lived. He allowed for a lot of artistic license, too! Republicans represent the part of the population that doesn't care about facts, and usually feel the facts are just some conspiracy to make them look bad. So they believe fake news, what preachers say from the pulpit, what's posted by friends on social media, etc. That's all they think they need to make educated decisions, so why would we expect them to be able to point out the countries of people they hate. It was never about the facts

It was never about the facts I am grateful for a program I enrolled in during high school called Area Studies; you could take it for two consecutive years and learn all about Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South America. Pretty much for that class alone I have a reasonably decent knowledge of geography. Admittedly I might be a tad rusty on the exact placement of some countries, but if you asked me which continent Paraguay is located on, I could tell you South America.
I just get upset at how basic some of this is, and there are people out there who are clueless. You want a border wall, and you don't even know where Mexico is on a map?
Morons!
Then again, their beloved leader (tRump) thought Colorado was a border state.

Initially i really thought that it will be one of those biased videos, where Americans are asked to name and point on a map European countries and made fun of when they fail. I mean, i don't know all European countries on a map (especially in the Balcans) and i'm not even getting into trying to name and point the American states or the African countries. But i have to say...asking to name any country on that map was easy enough. At least Canada and Mexico they should have known, since those are the next-door-neighbours and Trump really instilled a fear of Mexico. One at least should know from where those "scary" Mexicans are coming.
My thought exactly!

They didn't know where their own country was! That's outrageous. Also, since most republicans are racist, they didn't even know Africa was a continent, and not a country. I can't tell you exactly where all the US states are, but I've got most of them generally in the right place. I know where most European countries are, but get a bit sketchy with eastern European countries. I can't locate African countries on a map, unless I have some reason to know where they are. Cape Verde is where a lot of Atlantic hurricanes start, so I've seen it on weather maps for years. It seems all of us have a decent knowledge of where the countries are, with our weaknesses. They have no idea at all! As someone said, they voted for tRump to stop the Mexicans, and don't even know where Mexico is. The only aspect of that test is we don't know if the questioners sought out people who to them were stereotypical morons, or if they went to a place where the locals are known to be morons, or if they totally lucked out, and managed to pick all those morons. We also don't know if they edited out any correct answers, and if so, what percentage were right and what percentage were wrong. It did point out the sad state of those who support tRump, and why. Facts aren't important. Being on the current hate bandwagon is all that matters

Anyone remember THIS little gem from 2007?
(Although to be fair, she claimed she was overwhelmed at that moment, but she hasn't gone on since then to make any significant contribution to society. So make of that what you will.)

Oh bless her, she hasn't got a clue what she's going to say next, she's just scrambling round drawing out the sentence, hoping something comes to her! If only she'd said 'I'm sorry, I'm overwhelmed and can't think straight' or 'I'm not sure' instead, but she's been trained to waffle, just like most of politicians! (Although they often have more to say!)

OMG I agree with Bean, she has no idea what she's talking about, so no idea how to form the thought, or what to say next. Sadly, she's from another state, North Carolina, that tends to be republican. I think she was trying to avoid saying it's because people are stupid, and the schools do nothing to teach them what they need to do. It is unfortunate that students are often passed on to the next grade without getting what they needed from the last one. I don't know if that happens in other countries, but I know it happens in the US

Never seen that video. Oh my...as much as she would have been nervous, she had no clue what so ever. I am even wondering if she understood the question? She was rambling about Africa and Iraq !!
I have to say though, I am pretty sure that each country has such people that have NO CLUE whatsoever. I was watching some tv shows from Romania (similar to The Late Show) and they had at the end of the show 10 min of a collage with romanians that had no clue (they would be asked "When did the revolution from '89 take place?" and they would not be able to answer that). A similar thing i heard in Germany, where people where asked a question, with the answer in it and they wouldn't be able to answer it.
I cannot tell you about Austria, Germany or Denmark, but Romania also does it. Sometimes kids are failed in summer, but then they are passed in autumn. The reason is mainly that if they don't pass, then it's a bad mark on the school; meaning they might get some extra inspections, loose funding, loose reputation and no Headmaster wants that for their school. The second reason is, that school is mandatory. One has to finish at least 10 grades (officially, we are not talking about dropping out) and there is a rule in Romania, that a child is not allowed to be more than 3 years older than the average age in that school year. This means, combining the two rules (age + mandatory) that a pupil will be passed latest after his 3rd time repeating the year.
