I would like to start making them again, Jo. I would start with one mould that was versatile, probably one to make the creams with. I might get one with a design, just to be able to make the orange or watermellon chocolate. I really don't have people to give the choccies to as gifts. This neighborhood is such that if I give to one, I almost have to give to 100, and that's too much for me to do. We only have our daughter and granddaughter around here, and can't ship the choccies to Florida, or I'd ship them to you in the UK. So it's more about making some possibly for us, our little family, and a few neighbors, and keeping it fun. I'm not ringing in Christmas with the pope any longer, even if I do think he's a pretty cool guy Temps in the 20s yesterday, with 3-4 inches of snow, in almost 50 today, with the snow melting, back in the 20s tomorrow with up to a foot of snow. I'm wishing my back were better, so I could get out to walk today, in between snows. Instead, I'm being really easy on my back, but I plan to change the cage bedding today. Not a big job, and I'll take it slowly and easily.

Just keep it to a minimum Piggles love and make for a few. My favourite flavours are strawberry and orange cream so you will definitely have a customer here. It is pretty cold here today to but so far we haven't had snow this year.

Hope the cage cleaning goes smoothly - I'm sure the girls will help!
Watermelon chocolate sounds interesting - I've not tried that before. My favourites tend to be chocolate with sea salt or caramel!

I prefer just milk or plain chocolate covering a raspberry or orange cream. When it comes to choccies my tastes are quite conventional.

I prefer dark chocolate, and I like quite a few flavorings. Flavorings are different if I'm flavoring the chocolate or the cream filling. I like raspberry, orange, banana and strawberry flavored cream fillings. I only like watermelon and orange flavored chocolate. I had grape, pom, etc., for flavoring the chocolate, and tried them all, but preferred the orange and watermelon.
I haven't gotten out to walk this week because of my back, and since it's supposed to snow all weekend and into next week, it's not looking good for walking any time soon. I used to walk regardless of the weather, but this year I've been more susceptible to the cold, and less willing to put myself through that. -5F when I got up this morning, with no wind. Wind had really picked up, and while the temp is up to 14F, windchill feels like 1F. Yep, staying home and getting in my steps in the house.
Watching BBC-GMT this morning, temps in parts of Australia are supposed to hit the high 40sC, with rolling brown-outs to save energy. I worry about pets in a/c during rolling brown-outs. If the house a/c stops, it doesn't always restart just because the electricity returns. I hope people are taking basic precautions, such as just having buckets of ice around to lower the ambient temperature. Bottles of ice water in the cages, etc. The news showed the beaches packed with people, mostly in the water trying to stay cool. I hope there are cooling options for the animals, too. Hard to think of temps being close to 120F in Australia, when it's barely 1F here.

All this talk of different-flavored chocolate reminds me of a national park about an hour's drive from my house that sells fudge with various flavors: watermelon, orange, peanut butter, lemon, root beer, cookies n' cream & birthday cake.
I can't have chocolate (causes kidneystones), but I found I can have fudge (in small amounts) so whenever we go I try to stock up a little.

If I see that somewhere, I'm going to have to try it! On an unrelated note, I tried to schedule my trip to Colorado and ended up cancelling it AGAIN! (Don't worry, this has a happy ending) After I had finished reserving all the hotels, one hotel called me and said that this was the off-season- that meant lots of places and roads would be closed. I checked my planes and found that a few places would be inaccessible to me for this trip... which would be a deal breaker. But, I was able to switch gears and it looks like we'll be headed to Arizona and the Grand Canyon this year!

Glad you found out the Colorado trip wouldn't have been the trip you were hoping for before it was too late - Arizona sounds brilliant!

Yes it is delicious Baz love and please let me know if you can find it where you live. That was a stroke of luck regarding your trip and I hope you have a really great time. I remember seeing Arizona in The High Chaparral. I often wondered what sort of little beasties live there.

Hugs JO xx I know the Californian Condor lives there- my dad was fortunate enough to have seen one when he visited about a decade ago. Generally when I go on my vacations I try to capture on video anything I can, including the wildlife. When I went to Utah back in 2012, I did travel down to Arizona briefly and saw a handful of tiny lizards.

Birds like that are quite shy aren't they Baz hunni so I think your dad was extremely lucky to have seen one? I wondered if there are any scorpies there as I know there are a couple of types that live in the Arizona desert. I adore lizards and the only time I have seen them in the wild was when I was in Corfu in 1990. It is wonderful to see them in their own habitat.

That butter tablet looks fabulous, Jo! I may try that one of these days. I hear Arizona is beautiful, and have seen many pictures of it from friends who live there. If you get any snaky pics, could you just warn me first, so I don't look at them by mistake. I love lizards, too, and some are quite interesting and colorful. There are some incredibly beautiful flowers there, too. Just gorgeous! I'm glad you still get to take your vacation someplace you really want to go. I can image many areas in Colorado are closed for the snow season. There is so much open space there, it would be impossible to keep all the accesses cleared of snow for the whole season. We got about a foot of snow from this last storm, and about 4 inches from Saturdays storm, so it's really starting to pile up. The pile behind the mail boxes is higher than the mailboxes. Winter finally arrived in earnest, as it usually does in February and March. Clear tomorrow, as Mother Nature wants to give us a nice Valentine's Day, then more snow Wednesday and Thursday. I think it may be mostly flurries, but it can make the driving a bit treacherous. Hubby worked from home last Thursday, and today, and may be home again this week. Good think he does a job that can be done from anywhere, as long as he has a computer and internet. The Nor'ester winds arrived mid morning this morning. Luckily hubby got out to snow blow and shovel before then, because we were watching our poor neighbor trying to snow blow in 45 mph wind gusts, and having the snow coming out of his snow blower blowing right back on him. He gave up after about 10 minutes. Don't blame him. He had as much snow on him as there was on the ground

I crossed over into Arizona during my 2012 Utah trip and it was spectacular! I'll be sure to warn you if my vids contain any snakes, but I'm really hoping I don't run into any out there!

It is delicious Piggles love, can you get it in the US? Oh you poor neighbour, I bet he looked like a snowman. No the snakies aren't very friendly there are they Baz love and are dangerous? I hope you manage to avoid them as they are grumpy. I believe rattlers give you plenty of warning when you approach them so I don't think you will be treading on anyone by mistake. I must admit I would love to see these things but from a safe distance.

I'd love to see the cliff dwellings in Chaco canyon, and all the beautiful scenery in Arizona, but again, too many angry reptiles in the area for me. There really is an awful lot of gorgeous scenery in the world. As much as I enjoyed that miniseries on going to Mars, I can't imagine why anyone would want to leave this planet, it's so beautiful. The places we've wrecked can be fixed, if we really wanted to and tried. Happy Valentine's Day It's been a bright, sunny and gorgeous day, which is really nice with all of the grey skies we've had. We're getting a general mix of great days and rain/snow days for the next week, more sun than yuck Temps are supposed to be in the 30sF, 0-3C, so not bad at all. More than enough time to find places to put the snow we've gotten

Ha! And I, of course, woke up to find my bed filled with rose petals!
Happy Valentine's Day to anyone who marked the occasion! We gave a sort of laid back nod to it, without getting caught up in the commercial stuff - just a bit of fun.

Lol, we exchanged Happy Valentine's messages, and he got me some cupcakes and cookies. He used to buy me flowers, despite me telling him I didn't like cut flowers, because we don't know when they were cut, and sometimes they barely last long enough to get them into a vase. So he started getting me potted plants, but if you could see how many plants I have in the house, you'd understand why he doesn't do that anymore We had a nice, easy dinner, had some sweets while we watched TV, and that was a nice, quiet, easy V Day I finally got out to walk today. It's been over a week since my back started acting up last, and between that and the weather, it's been hard to get outside. I did my walk, moved the weather station to a place where I think it will get the wind more directly. During the Nor'easter, the wind was gusting so hard it was creating whiteout conditions with the snow, and the weather station managed to record 20mph winds once. I've seen the sapplings in the back yard bent practically to the ground by the wind, and the weather station said it was 11 mph. I don't think so. We're looking into a getting a weather station that connects to the National Weather Service, so we can be one of the stations that reports the local weather to the local news channels. Another snow storm headed our way. The amount has been reduced from 8-12" to 6-10", starting sometime tonight. Rain first, changing to a mix and then to all snow. I figure hubby is working from home again tomorrow.
