That is a really great video hunny, I have bookmarked it even though I don't intend to have any baby piggies. Thank you so much for sharing.

Oh how cute you've seen the babies kicking! Hope that's reassured you. Good luck with the old snip too. Make sure he has some pain meds after - I find the first 24 hours are the worst with them looking rather sorry for themselves, after that mine have all bounced back pretty quickly. Plus have some kind of heat pad/ hot water bottle to help keep him warm if he needs it - some animals struggle to keep their body temperature up after surgery. Of my last two who were neutered (doesn't that sound nicer than castrated?!) with one of them you'd barely have even know he'd had an op. The other, who's never been quite as robust, did need a bit more tlc and keeping warm for a day or so, but after that he bounced back too. Guinea Lynx has so much excellent information, I'm glad you found it. The sexing page at Cavy Spirit is pretty good too if you need any additional photos when the babies come! Thank you so much the vet I'm going to believes in giving pain medicine as they feel that piggies feel pain and they deserve pain medicine. Also they will give him a shot of Baytril before surgery to make sure he doesn't get any infection after. Also what I love is he has to get cleared by the doctor first before surgery and a poop sample. Thank you I didn't know about the keeping warm I will make sure I have things available to keep him all cuddly warm 😊

I think you're right about him not realizing, or not understanding why he can see, here and smell her, but can't get to her. What will you do with any male babies, once they reach 3 weeks? Mr. C's daughters can stay with him and Snuggie, and he can have his own harem, but the boys have to be separated from the girls and from Mr. C, once he's back with the girls. I am trying to get in contact with rescues to be able to help me and teach me how to adopt my piggies out I'm not looking for money for them I just want them to go to a really good home and a big enough cage and that they won't get rid of them I'm extremely scared I don't want anything to happen to them. I do have a friend whom had piggies 20 years ago who is willing to take 1 maybe 2 and their is a gentleman who wants one who has been working with them for almost 20 years, but I am still worried because they will still be my babies. And male babies will be separated right away until they are old enough to leave I believe it's 6-8 weeks. But I believe Snuggie will give birth in the next 7-10 days so Mr C will stay with his sons until they are old enough to be adopted hence he is having surgery and has to stay away anyways

This is just so hard on me being I love my babies so dearly and I would be devastated if something happens. I just rearranged Snuggie's cage now to a different place in case she has the babies where she will be stress free and placed Chocolates cage on front so he can still see her and touch her. He goes for his surgery Tuesday but I don't know now being we have this big snow storm coming.

I've realised that every time you post in this thread, I'm sort of half holding my breath coming to look wondering if you're going to have posted that the babies are here! Sounds like a big snow storm - hope it doesn't disrupt too much, but best to stay safe if the driving conditions aren't good. Have you got any idea of a timeline on how far along she might be? How long have you had them for? As mentioned before, I think my Charlie must have got pregnant just before I picked her up, as it was just over 2 months before she had the babies. It was a looooong wait! As yours was a mis-sexing, I suppose there's potentially a bigger potential range as she could have got pregnant since you brought them home. I can still remember the morning I found Charlie's babies so well though, the excitement of seeing them and knowing they were all okay. They're rubbish quality photos, but this was their first day (Ziggy's face peering up from under his mum's bum always makes me chuckle!) - can you believe they'd all fitted inside her?! Oh sweetie you are very welcome. They are tough little things and having babies comes very naturally to them and they usually manage to give birth to very healthy babies and be OK themselves. I am sending lots of virtual cuddles and kisses in the hope that this may help. I hope the snow storm isn't too severe either love.
They are gorgeous pigtures Bean hunni, I could look at them all day.

Oh my lord gosh how freaking adorable they are so cute!!!! I am kinda anxious and nervous all at once I finally took Snuggie to my local pet store the owner worked at a vet for 20 years and a girl was there and raised piggies for 11 years she checked her and said that she can feel at least 4 piggies maybe 5 and that she is extremely close to giving birth should happen in a couple days! And now I'm freaking out because we have a blizzard warning and I don't know what to do to keep them safe if the power goes out. They are calling for 30" or more of snow in my area.

Wow! We're only supposed to get 16-20" out of this storm. Hunker down. Have lights and a heat source for them, just in case. Have plenty of water for them. You'll all do just fine. I hope you don't lose power. It's always good to get professional opinions, but Snuggie will do fine until the storm passes

What adorable photos Bean love and I hope the storm soon passes Piggymommy2 hunni. We are lucky where we live, we never have extreme weather conditions. Please give my love to Snuggie and tell her her Auntie Jo Jo loves her.

4-5?! Crumbs! Hope she's wrong and there are just the usual 2-3 in there!
Are you worried about keeping them warm in a power cut or just not being able to get to the vets should you need to?
Relating to heat, if Snuggie has a few cosy hideys in her cage, whether lined with fleece or with soft hay in, they're nice safe places she can retreat to and stay warm. You can always hang some fleece over most of the cage too, to help them all stay cosy, especially until the babies dry off. It's not long before they can walk around, so soon they'll follow mum around to snuggle and feed anyway.

Hello ladies! Still no babies yet! I'm hoping soon but it's a wait game! Chocolate goes in for Surgery on Tuesday and I'm thrilled because the vet doing his surgery is a exotics and been working with small animals for 30 years! She also owns 2 piggies herself 😊 we made it through the snow storm only got about 14" thank goodness! But I will definitely keep everyone updated and hopefully soon Snuggie has a safe and healthy delivery

We got about 20" out of the storm, but it was lite snow, so no major problems. I'm glad you got through it okay, and Mr. C is scheduled to get the snip Bean is right about creating warm places that even work in most power outages, as long as the house doesn't get too cold. Other things you can do include keeping clay tiles on a windowsill or other sunny spot to warm them, then putting them under a cuddle cup or the fleece. I cover my cage at night just because the girls like it covered, and it gets all snuggly warm in the whole cage, under a fleece blanket. I don't cover the cage in the summer, when we're running the a/c to keep everyone cool, but once it starts to get cold, I do. Even if you have an old bedspread, beach towel or whatever would cover the cage with a bit of breathing space, anything will work. I hope the babies come soon

Oh bless your soul with 20". I went crazy with 14" as my children didn't have school for 3 days and they drove me insane 😂. Yes I am beyond excited for his snip and the re induction of my babies when the time is right, they sure miss each other a lot. I also scheduled Snuggie a vet appointment on Wednesday to get a check up and get a due date as I am not sure how far along she is. I can see babies kicking and moving from the outside but I don't know what stage she is at, so my best bet is to get her a appointment. And I noticed her sneezing a little bit more now not sure if it's the hay or what is the cause. And my babies love their cage covered from the back at night and Mr. C gets all excited in the morning when it's time to open the shade and if you don't open it fast enough he yells at you until it's open 😁. I will have to look into the clay tiles those sound interesting but Mr. C doesn't leave anything in it's place as he moves and knocks everything over 😂

If Snuggie is heavily pregnant, I'd be inclined to leave her be unless there's a good cause to move her - you just don't want to cause her any stress at this time. Their labours don't tend to last that long, and it's really best she's at home feeling relaxed and secure when that happens.
Is there any mucous with the sneezing, or any other symptoms of a respiratory infection (crusty eyes, lethargic) rather than just something irritating her airways? Of course that is a concern, and if she does seem unwell then I'd risk taking her to the vet. But otherwise I'd just probably have a chat with them when you take Mr C in and see what they advise.
