That's fabulous! I with we could have them, but they're against the community rules. My daughter has them, and said their electric bill is incredibly low, now I wonder what it would take to change the rules; they're incredibly useful and why would anyone have an issue with "green" energy?

I'm surprised they're not yet standard on new builds. They look so much better when they're incorporated into the design rather than bolted on (which I assume is the reason for them not being allowed in certain places), and it's much more cost effective than having them added later. And who doesn't want cheaper electricity bills?!

While called manufactured home, these houses are technically mobile homes. Ours are not on wheels, but everything is set for them to be put back on wheels, so the house can be moved if necessary. That means taking the house apart, as it travels in two long halves. I don't think having solar panels on the roof of one side would make any difference in how easily the house could be moved, so I can only think it's either for looks, or so no one can outspend anyone else, technically(some houses are much bigger than others), by adding things not everyone can afford.
The only other aspect is I've heard not every buyer wants a house with rented equipment, which is what daughter has. Granite State Solar installed everything, and she pays a monthly rent. Even with the monthly rent, her electric bill is negligible.
We're not allowed to have anything but regular roofing. Again, I think it's either because not everyone can afford a metal or tile roof, and if some did it, the consistency of appearance would be gone.
I don't know for sure, but I do know we're considered the best 55+ community in the state, and there's a waiting list of people trying to get in here.

Forgot to mention that I love the summer banner Agreed; I noticed it and wanted to get around to mentioning it as well. There was another board that used to do different wallpapers for themes; after the current administrator passed away unexpectedly we defaulted to a rather austere background. The main theme (when it wasn't holiday-themed) was a pleasant bamboo texture that made for a nice meditative atmosphere.

I've not looked into backgrounds (I can't recall exactly what we get to change) but I've surprised myself with remembering to change the banner for the first time in years, so you never know! I like the idea of a dandelion background.

I have fun changing the background to my posts on Facebook, and I change the card back design on the solitaire app I use, seasonally. If someone didn't give me the option of "click here to change..." I wouldn't bother to figure it out on my own. I post the progress of the F1 races, on Facebook, as most of my UK friends can't afford Sky Sport, which is really expensive. I have a group that follows my posts. Dutch driver Max Verstappen had the pole, Sunday, and he won the race. His fans dress in orange shirts, so I made the background orange in honor of Max and his fans. One of our former members son is a huge Max Verstappen fan, so she showed it to him, and he was thrilled the posts were in Max's color I have no idea how to do banners, and have no artistic ability, so haven't bothered to learn.

Our kitchen sink was draining slowly today, and I asked my wife if this was a big issue at the moment. She shrugged it off for about 15 minutes before changing her mind, so I got out the tools and pulled out a disgusting mess from the pipes. I thought I had it solved, but the sink still drains slowly, although slightly faster now.
My wife said we'll call a plumber tomorrow- I hope she meant that SHE'LL call, as she works from home and can be on the phone to handle these things. Part of me suspects she expects me to do it, even though it would be more efficient for her to make the appointment.
I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Liquid Plumber. Just pour some down the drain, run cool water for a few minutes to help flush it down, and let it do its thing. We used it all the time. I have long hair, and I shed like a sheep dog, so I put some down the tub drain every couple of weeks. It's a lot less expensive than a plumber, though if it doesn't work, you'll still need one.
Do you have a snake to use on the pipes? Hubby snakes the drains when they get clogged, and it seems to not only break through the worst clogs, but pull them up so he can clean them out of the pipes.

I try not to use too many chemicals on the drain- generally, I like to open them up and manually clear out the crud. In this case though, it was beyond my expertise- but luckily my wife called our neighbor, who came over, found that a pipe in the roof that allowed air to circulate had been clogged and managed to clear everything up! That sink drains faster than I've ever seen it do in years! Our neighbor didn't even charge us! We're looking into getting some sort of small screen or ventilated cap to cover the pipe to prevent more blockage down the road.

Glad you resolved the problem and without forking out for a tradesman. It's always good to learn something about how things in your home work too, might save you some more money in the future!

Ah, yes. We have extended our pipe, and blocked the end, so nothing can get down inside. Birds build nests, blowing leaves and pine needles fall in, etc. Glad it wasn't a major plumbing issue We try not to use chemicals, too, but so far, there's no non-chemical replacement for Liquid Plumber, which does work. I'm very careful about my carbon footprint, so I figure using Liquid Plumber periodically isn't too bad. Plumbers are extremely expensive! Cooler today. Feels Like is only up to 109F, so far. Supposed to have major thunderstorms come through later, so I'll have to take my shower and wash my hair early. I hope we get some decent rain out of the storms, and not just a lot of wind and electricity. Should be a good light show, though
