I'm not sure what our week is going to be like, but it's only getting into the 40sF today, and it's very overcast. I think your rain is going south of us, so we won't get that, though we do have some rain slated to start any time now. Like yesterday, it may be raining in the upper atmosphere, but nothing reaches the ground. It's been nice having the windows open overnight. I know once the summer heat arrives, it will be a/c and closed windows.
I think I mentioned getting an hvac vent added by the stove in the kitchen. I'm really hoping having that to cool the kitchen will reduce the electric bill a bit. Summers are more costly than winters for us.

I was just wondering, did you already know that it was his 40th he was celebrating, or did the DJ inform you?!

Three planters of onions, red, yellow and sweet. 8 bags of potatoes-gold, purple and red. Mint, Thyme, sage, dill, parsley, oregano and rosemary, plus a pot of lettuce. All hearty, cool weather, so they should be fine. The big onions on the right came from our onions that sprouted. The rest are seed onions a neighbor gave us. Nice to have our growing season started 🤗

It's the exact opposite of what you like from a birthday, isn't it?!
Growing season looks like it's off to a great start, 3piggles, and it all looks very tidy too!

I remember when my mother turned 40, though she claimed she was 29 again, for the 11th time, I told the girl next door we were going out to dinner for my mother's 40th birthday, and my mother was furious with me. I can just imagine what she would have done if we'd announced her age over a loud speaker repeatedly, lol

With all the rain, our grass is getting out of control, so I charged up our battery and mowed the front & side lawn. Still have to do the back, but that area isn't as nearly as bad. Also, the village won't give us any citations because it isn't easily seen from the street. Finally, my wife has to remove a healthy amount of random gardening accessories like vegetable cages and pots that would get in my way.

Will she do that, or will she, like hubby, keep meaning to get to it, but never actually getting to it? We had a good amount of rain, so all the seedlings we planted got watered It's gotten cool, again, so temps back in the 40s F instead of the 50s. Actually nicer for me for sleeping. The bedroom was a bit too hot for me last night. I hate having the fan on HI, as it feels like gale force winds, so I think it may be time to get out a window fan, and suck in some cooler air from outside.

Will she do that, or will she, like hubby, keep meaning to get to it, but never actually getting to it? I'll likely end up throwing anything in the path of the mower out of my way. There's plenty of spots where the mower won't go (like her garden areas) so this only need be done once.

Sounds like a plan. If I waited for hubby to do what he needs to do, I'd never get anything done.

I mowed the lawn, but still need to use the edger to fix some rough spots the mower can't reach. It looks like rain this weekend, but I can push it to next week. The back yard hasn't grown out yet, and there are sections that need not be mowed, so it didn't take long. Good for me, I need the rest.
On a side note, they're doing more construction on one road that I stopped using since I left UPS. This is great, except when I need to run and get supplies for the guys, or the grocery store- then the trip is lengthened by at least 25 minutes! (Two lanes become one going both ways, and every self-absorbed driver refuses to merge early, so jam-ups happen all the time.)
Going the long way around takes just as much time, so there's no point in alternate routes. Luckily, this only happens once a week.
I need supplies, but I'll go tomorrow- traffic won't be as bad.

You've just reminded me I planted some grass seed in a couple of areas by the new beds last weekend, and I haven't remembered to water it once - oops! I'll get onto it today.

I made through the construction without delays today, but I noticed that a side road that could serve as a shortcut is ALSO under construction! I don't know how whoever's in charge plans these things out, but charitably speaking, they're doing a poor job.
Again, I'm relieved I switched jobs when I did- much less aggravation!

Maybe doing construction on two roads in the same place means only having to bring the equipment out once, get both done, and save a whole lot of time and fuel. Just guessing. Glad you got the stuff for the guys without any road work hassles. Oh, I hate when people drive all the way to the front of the line in the breakdown lane, then expect people to let them into the line. That brings out the worst in people, who don't let them into the line, and make them sit there until someone doesn't get going fast enough, and they can jump into the line. Everyone is waiting. Why can't they just wait like everyone else. I only use the breakdown lane if I'm getting off the road before we get to whatever is holding up the traffic. One of those 'so close yet so far away' situations with the exit. I'm not trying to jump passed everyone in line, and cut back in. Isn't it nice to have less aggression? I sometimes have to have a really long, hard talk with myself to not get overly annoyed by a road delay situation I can't change, anyway. We haven't had a road rage incident in quite a while, but summer is coming. Used to be riot season. Now it's road rage season

We haven't had a road rage incident in quite a while, but summer is coming. Used to be riot season. Now it's road rage season What I try to do is start allowing for space with the car in front of me as things get tighter- if traffic doesn't come to a standstill, a merge can happen without too many feathers getting ruffled, at least around my area. If traffic stops, I still allow space so a car get get in. If a truck is in front, not many people want to get in front of me, but that's their problem. It's inevitable that it will happen, but I try not to envision everyone as a selfish egomaniac- just slow down and set an example. I've been doing this for decades, and haven't suffered a road rage incident because of it.

Massachusetts has some of the worst, most aggressive drivers. We're right over the border from Massachusetts. Envision a whole lane of people trying to cut in at the front of the line, rather than waiting their turn like everyone else.
