This weather is unbelievable- we had the AC on for Friday, but the temps dropped into the 60's, so we shut it off... now it's cold enough just to close the windows, but not turn the heat on. I do wish it'd settle down for a bit. Consistency would be nice.

We had our hotter day of the weekend, with feels like up to 105F, and high humidity. The humidity has dropped from around 77% to 48%. Not even sure when it did that. We have rain forecast for later today, bringing in the cold front. We're 1-2 days behind you with the weather, so we're back in the 60s and 70s tomorrow, with a clear stretch of several days.
I've lived in New England all my life, and we've never had more than a few days of consistent temps. We have heat waves that end with a 30-40 degree drop in temp during the heart of the summer, and temps can get up to the 70s in January. Makes no sense at all. I'm afraid wishing for consistency is fruitless. Even in SF, when my parents lived there, the temp got into the 90s. They don't have those temps, so no one has a/c or any way to combat it.
No climate change, here. That's all a hoax.

We don't get that much variation, and can be quite consistent with cool and grey spells!
I've done my flower count for 'No Mow May', we had tons of daisies, buttercups and dandelions, and also chickweed and forget-me not. Usually we have lots of clover, but although we have all the leaves, there were no flowers - maybe they've been and gone. There were a couple of other rarer lawn flowers that weren't on the list they were counting too. The lawn hasn't been mown for nearly two months, so is long!

I wish we had a society where just letting the flowers and flowering weeds take over was okay Lots less work, that's for sure! Sounds as if you have a great crop of flowering things in your garden

What a bummer of a Memorial Day! Firs I had to drive to my folks' house and try to fix a leaky spigot. I couldn't do it- I drove to a hardware store and bought a replacement washer, and although it fit... the leak was still there.
Then I got home and my wife clogged the toilet, so I had to help mop up the mess. She took care of the upstairs, while I went downstairs and cleaned up where it leaked down.
Then, my washing machine clogged up and water spilled everywhere. I just finished mopping up puddles, and although I changed clothes earlier, my replacement clothes got soggy!
It's only 5pm over here. I expect a few more debacles before the day is over.

My goodness, what an unfortunate collection of watery mishaps. Definitely not in your top 10 days off! I really hope you were wrong about there being more chaos ahead in the rest of the day, and that you had a relaxing evening.

Wow, that really did suck! Luckily, if bad things come in threes, you've covered that and should be good for a while. Been there, so I feel for you. I hope it gets better from here on <3

Things didn't improve much- right as I was turning in for the night, my wife tells me we need my vehicle registration card, which should be in my car, but wasn't. (My daughter is going for her license soon.)
I tried to go online to get a replacement, but I keep hitting a dead end after inputting all my information. So now I need to find time to drive to a Secretary of State facility and deal with it there. (As far as I can tell, all I can do is get a form, which I need to fill otu and then wait 30 days (minimum) for my replacement card.)
Just more hassles I don't need right now.

What a pain. But a sterling effort diverting your plan to go to bed - I think I'd have sacked it off until the next day, once I'm in the 'going to bed zone', I'm rarely talked out of it!

Bummer Do you remember the last time you used it? Sometimes Vic put the car registrations in the tax info, as it's deductible from our taxes, and forgot to put them back in the cars. I hope you don't have to go to the state office to get a form. Can't even print that off the computer? Bigger bummer
