We also have a new fruit and veg shop opened on our street corner (Tuti Fruity!) I got in there quick on opening day and now they save me all the carrot greens and other treats! Yay! That's so great, Beckee! I wish my fruit and veg shop would do that, infact I think I'll ask! ;D On a sad note I saw a whole new bunch of bunnies in the petshops on saturday including some angoras which will no doubt be snapped up as easter pressies..grrr...poor little buggers. Poor bunnies! It always happens! And there are more pets at Christmas time for the you-know-what as well!

yes it was a real lucky break as It gives me an extra load of greens since we have no grazing... they are very sweet....I was out all morning today and they even left a bag of greens with my boyfriends mum who lives downstairs!
Some very lucky piggies in this house!

Congratulations on the new baby girls. I like the idea of naming them cartoon characters. We have and had alot of pets also. My husband came up with the great idea to start naming them after different candies and candy bars. Our cookie came to us with that name and we didn't think that it would be fair to change her name. Good luck with your babies they sound beautiful.

Here's a couple of pictures of the girls in their bigger cage..this used to be the run around from when I had two pigs but is now the main/overnight quarters for the foursome until the next one is built..they get outdoor exercise everyday though (well except today as it is bashing it down with rain!...extra cuddles instead) I realise now that I should have taken pics with the top off as it hides the contents but you'll have to wait for those as its taken me all day to get these uploaded!! You can still see the wooden hut..they climb on this to reach the hay rack but also have hay in cardboard tubes(cut long ways so no heads get stuck) they have bricks to help keep nails filed and some fleecy bed for snuggly time. I also put in today the blue tray of shavings as a trial toilet pan..Just out of interest to see if they use it as they tend to head for that corner...If it works I will invest in a proper corner pan, if not, extra newspaper! I move the inside around pretty much every couple of days. They seem very happy so far!! Here are a couple of shots to show where they are in the house too! the kitchen is behind the bricked area and they are in the living room (its all open plan) The cats think its great as they can laze on the cat tree or the fish tank and look down on piggles!! I know they look a bit enclosed there but I currently have a naughty 8 month old who is a whizz in her walker and crashes into everything so I have to protect them a little!! and here is Izzy...afore mentioned 8 month old! not a GUINEA pig but as you can see from the mess..a little piglet none the less!! hehe

Off topic slightly but can anyone tell me how I can edit the thread title? The 'baby piggies' will not be 'brand new' forever after all! Or babies forever come to mention it!!

Ask Isis or any other glob mod....I think you go back to the 1st post and modify the title! They are such adorable little piggies! Are you deciding to keep them all? How many piggies will you have altogether now?

LOL @ Izzy ... gorgeous!!! I have a cage like that too, i'm not using it for my piggies at the moment, but I used to use it when I first took the bubs away from mum ... I created a second level using the side from an old bird cage and then just cable tied it to the wire ... I had a step stool underneath so they could either sit under it or jump on to the step stool and then walk onto the second level .. that's where I kept their food, so they had more room on the bottom level to run and be crazy

Thats a good idea piparmaru! Boyf and I were just talking yesterday about ways to add a small second level! I shall pass on your ideas and see what he can develop!! Linda...yes we are keeping them all!! They are not babies from Hantaro, we went for a second sow for company for Hanny and came back with the three sisters!! They are all part of the family now!!

Its about 120 long by 66 wide by about 66 deep..not massive but by a long shot this was the biggest cage for guineas/rabbits we found here..until boyf gets building its the best option!
The standard guinea cages they sell here are from about 40 cm sq to 70x40...tiny!!
