I caught Zippy lounging in his cuddle cup throne in the feeding station, and had to get the pic. It's a little blurry, sorry!! Zippy the King

He is looking rather stately and definitely claiming that feeding station as his area

I remember when he sped through life so fast, he earned his name, lol. Now, he's become the regal piggy king of the feeding station. He really loves the feeding station, and has only been back in the cage once since I created it. This last cage cleaning only had three poos to slurp. I think they miss the hay loft. I'll put it back into the cage next time I change the Equine Pine. The hay was getting in such pieces it was always all over the pigs, so I stopped the hay loft until the hay got better. Winter is over, so the good hay should be coming out pretty soon. Meanwhile, King Zippy can rule over his feeding station kingdom, lol.

Zippy really has taken on a Regal look hasn't he? Well I guess we should have expected it- he is the only Male so he is a "King" or "Prince" right? Hugs! Lee Anne & all the boys

He sort of has his own little harem, lol, although he spends most of his time in the feeding station, with or without the girls. Lee Anne (10 Little Piggies) sent me some ubercute piggy stuff from a place called The Peaceful Kingdom Alliance 4 Animals, Adopt a Homeless Pet! www.thepeacefulkingdom.com. One is a piggy awareness magnet for the car, and the other is a window sticker telling firefighters there's a piggy to be rescued. I was so delighted with the items, I put them in their respective places and got piccies ASAP. Here they are.

Aww- I'm so glad you liked the presents. ;D
I gotta tell you something funny though--I got one of the "In case of Emergency -Please Rescue my Guinea Pigs Inside " signs for me too....
Well let me tell you-I don't know if I'm ever going to hear the end of it from my kids and the rest of my family..
The kids said- "Oh we see how it is --it's ok to let us burn up--but you want to be sure the fire fighters rescue *your* piggies! You love them more than you do us!!"...
So I calmly responded "No, that is not it!! The truth is -you can get *yourself* out of a burning house- they (my boys) can't!" "Now stop being such big babies"
I think that smoothed it over for now...
I know - Sometimes I'm so mean!!
Lee Anne & all the boys..

You're right!!! I had those 'baby' stickers on the house and nursery windows, when Les was a baby and couldn't get herself out of the house. I bought stickers saying I had pets in the house, so firefighters would get the dogs and cats out. I never found any stickers for rescuing guinea pigs, and I was soooo thrilled to get that one!!! I also think I have the only Adopt a Guinea Pig ribbon magnet in New Hampshire, lol.

I love the license plate too! I wonder how many people 'get it'! That was a great idea!
I also have sticker's inside my windows to alert the fire department to save my pets. Mine is more of a generic type that you check off what pets you have inside your home. The thing I like best about it though is that it is reflective, so if the fireman is shining a flashlight to see inside the house he will also see a bright reflective sticker showing that there are animals inside to save.
I have several of them in my windows all around the house, front, back and sides.
They say if your house is on fire, chances are that the power or lights will be out and therefore firemen use flashlights, especially at night time.

So far, no one has gotten the license plate. Most people don't know guinea pigs are cavies, so they don't make the connection. Now that I have the magnet, I'm wondering if more people will wonder about the license plate. A study in Zippy sleeping. I caught him flaked out in the leftover hay in the feeding station and took his pigture. He sort of woke up and looked at me, then went back to sleep. Dead to the world Still sleeping One sleeping piggy pic too many. I took about 30 pigtures, so expect to be overpigtured in the next few days, lol.

Zippy and Harlequin (LG) had their six month check-ups today. The doctor also checked Fudgy Momma's eyes, and said they aren't any worse than they were six months ago, which is good, If there is degeneration, it's extremely slow.
Zippy has a floater in his left eye which the doctor said won't do him any harm but could spook him once in a while, the way it does when we think we see something out the corner of our eye. He got his ears cleaned, and they all got a clean bill of health.
The best part was that the doctor has a new tech, who hadn't met me or the kids before. The doctor told her, if she believes in reincarnation, she wants to come back as one of my guinea pigs, as they are so happy, healthy and loved. That's about the nicest thing he could possibly say. It makes me feel really great!!!

What a nice thing for your vet to say. It feels like a pat on the back when you hear things like that and no matter how much you hope your care well for your pets its lovely to hear someone else reassure you.
Glad all went ok.

It really is a nice pat on the back. You've all seen my pigtures, but the vet sees them in the fur, sees how we interact and how they react to others. That really made me feel good.

aw what a nice thing for the vet to say! Many of my friends say that they want to come back as one of my pets...doesn't matter which species since they all are spoil to the max. 3piggles, why did you delete the piggy pigtures on the previous page? I just noticed that when I went back to read up on your thread.

I didn't delete them. I think I must have moved them. I'll check. Here are some I may have already posted, but have been moved. Momma in her bag hidey. Zippy as king of the feeding station. The cage is currently not together, so they are all living in the feeding station and a few other places where I've set up hideys. Zippy has his fleece. I moved the laundry basket he took the last fleece from, and created a fleece hidey in a corner. There's a pigloo village under a table and a waffle block house in another corner. All get a lot of use. My little two-faced girl. LG has one side brown and one side white. I just noticed she has to white whiskers on the white side, that are almost invisible.
