Oodles and Noodles playing around the bag of dirty hay. Cleaning day is the high point of their week, and they were making the most of it

Awww lovely, they look very well, and so much bigger than when you first got them - in my head they're eternally young 'uns!
I have a job keeping Cadders from jumping into the old bedding when I#m changing them out, he's quite clever about climbing up on things to get in! I always do a head count at each stage of moving the bag around!

Cleaning day in Pigloo City, again, but this time I decided to get the girls out for a bit of fun, and have a mani/pedi day as well as a cleaning day. I put the girls in their basket carrier, got a whole lot of celery leaves, and the nail clippers. Then the fun started. First Noodles, who is a sweet girl, but she doesn't like having anyone hold her feet for very long. I had her on my chest, and nail by nail she inched her way up onto my shoulder and into my hair, until she was totally tangled up in my hair. The funny part was the it was hard to tell my hair from hers, as they are the same colors A lot of celery leaves later, she had spiffy, clipped nails on her hands and feet. Next it was Oodles turn. She was practicing becoming one with the bedding in the basket, in the hopes that I wouldn't find her. I did, and she didn't resist. She was really keen on the celery leaves, but not so keen on the mani/pedi. Still, despite being a squirmy girl, and requiring a lot of celery leaf treats, she finally got through the worst of it, and back into the basket. Then it was time to head home and supervise adding the hay to Pigloo City. I guess I did it well, as they were quickly enjoying the hay and ignoring me. Considering how miffed they were with me minutes before, I figure it's a good schedule for doing the mani/pedi first, and the hay second. They were all tuckered out from helping me remove all the soiled hay and poos. They are always so interested in what's under the hay All good for the nails for another month, and Pigloo City is as clean as it can get until I change the pine pellet bedding and the screen, this spring I've been back and forth past Pigloo City so many times, and they are totally zonked

Haha bless them, it sounds as if a good time was had by all. It is amazing how soon they forget nails being done when there is a treat at the end of it LOL!!

Glad you got the cage cleaned and a spa day in one!
After I saw people talking about nail clipping on here, I was reminded I hadn't done mine for a while so got on to it. It was a doddle as the ones that usually wriggle a little, held perfectly still, so I did all 56 nails in record time! Hope that's a sign of things to come now that even the hyper ones are a bit older and more mellow!

Ours are much better behaved for the vet nurse when they have their claws done than they are for us love, I think they know when it no good to cause a scene, like kids LOL!

A friend who lives in Lincolnshire, and has an art studio called Guinea Days Art Studio, is creating a picture for me. I have to send her a photo, and she'll make it into a drawing. Problem is chosing which picture of the 1K+ photos I want made into a drawing. I can't believe how many pictures I have, and how difficult it is to choose. My first thought was to go with Zippy, because he will always be that special pig to me, but all of the others have meant so much to me, too, it's just not that easy. He definitely brought the most personality to everything he did, but how well it will translate into a picture, I'm not sure. Some day, I'd like to commission her to do a photo of all of my pigs. She did that that for a former member, and did an excellent job of capturing their personalities. So I'm really psyched about getting a picture done by her. Just wish I could decide on that perfect photo for her to do.

I would probably have the same problem choosing just one. I'd love to see the end result, though.

Oooh that's exciting. Good luck choosing the perfect photo though, it sounds tough!
It's certainly no dis to the others if you do choose Zippy as he was such a major part of developing your love for guineas, which then helped lead you onto so many others. One pig can represent so many from your guinea pig journey that whoever you choose will be great and I know you'll enjoy having it.

Me too Piggles hun I love piggy art although I do not have any at the moment. I have a lovely painting a friend did with bunnies and one guinea pig but I would love a drawing done of my piggies, when I get them of course.

The drawing of Zippy and Dallas is here! It's fabulous! Zippy is the black pig, and Dallas is the brown/white pig. It's a 6x8" water color. She picked the background, as the picture showed them sitting on a snuggle sack. We will get a really nice frame for it. I absolutely love it

Normally, the girls have two pigloos with the backs cut out so they can pass through, and the turleloo, which has a back door and the entry cut out. Zippy used to wear it like a turle shell, hence the name. After I replaced all the pellet bedding, washed the screen, and totally scrubbed out the cage, I put in a cardboard box house, instead of the three pigloos. The girls were fine for a while, then Oodles starting having meltdowns. I think the fireworks were scaring her, and with the pigloos, she could run from under a loft, then pigloo to pigloo to under the other loft. With the cardboard box house, there was a lot of open territory between hidies. Since I changed the houses, she's been very happy. I have to remember that for next year, and probably cover the cage enough for her to feel safe. it was great to see her joining Noodles in the piggy train through the pigloos, checking out everything to make sure I did it right So much better than running and wheeking and hiding!

Ha ha Piggles love, they are good at telling us when we don't do things to their satisfaction lol! I would love a piccy like that. I have one of bunnies on my wall which I am very fond of but there is only one piggy in the picture. I would like one of just piggies.

Sounds like Oodles has army training! Hope she's at ease now the fireworks have ended.
I love the inspection trains following a cage clean - it's hilarious how they have to go through every tube and box right away! Even if we just lift a chube out and put it straight back in, they trundle over to do a special pass of it!
