Oh.cool. I only ever adopted 1 animal, it was a rat. Casper was from a feedstore(a breeder dropped the whole litter off) Storm was from a show Moca was from a show Ivan was from a show Ian was from a show Domino was from a breeder! I could resist the little miniature schnauzers!! They were the cutest little things!! Neco & Jasmine were born from their mom, and were thankfully spayed & neutered so there wouldnt be more kittens. Goldy was from Wal-mart(Goldfish) Clyde, Rusty, & Rainbow were from Petsmart(Golfish) White Pebble & Blue Mars were from a feedstore(Male Bettas) ^^ That's the places my pets were all from I want 4 miniature schnauzers when I'm older!! I love those dogs!!

To get back to the original subject, yes cavies sleep with their eyes open. It's only when they're in a very deep sleep (for a cavy!) that they'll close them. In the wild this is a good precaution against predators, that they can still see while dozing.

Might I add that cavies get about 4-6 hours sleep, but only in quick snatches and seldom will you catch them in full sleep. They are more active during the day and tend to quiet down at night.

They don't sleep with their eyes wide open- they have them either half closed or fully closed.
