That's a boar! You can just tell by one look at that photo! Not a girl at all! Guess the PetCo employees need some training, eh? You can complain to them that they mis-sexed your cavy. Because girls don't have big dots like that. I can show you a photo of one of my male cavies.

They can't deny they didn't say it was female too on the paper they filled out it says Female Guinea Pig, under type of companion (or something like that).

Yea. I mean it's stupid that they had it for female, since it's pretty simple to tell the difference between a male & female at 4-5 weeks old. The push-down things insures ususally, but if you know the sexes well, you can pretty much just look and know it's a boar or sow. I hate PetCo personally, bad experience... But they really should train the employees to know the sexes of the rodents and guinea pigs, and else what they sell. My Petsmart only sells male guinea pigs and rodents. The PetCo has both genders.

Yea, I know what you mean... the piggy illness. Don't we all got the piggy illness? It's very cotagious(sp?).... and a flu that keeps in your system all your life... and a flu that has very, very, very, demanding needs... like getting more, more, more, and more pigs!! Maybe you could name 'Lucy': Mr. Lucy. LOL.

Lol, well we went to this pet store Called Todays Pet (I forgot if I already told you.) They had 1 guinea pig cage. Maybe 8-10 guinea pigs. They said they couldn't guarantee the gender and it was ovious they had both. I also didn't look this time but remember them having skinny pigs other times I had been there.
