Piggie #1, Prickles (p) never moves. He won't walk, run, popcorn, twitch, lean over that extra inch to the pellet bowl, anything. Does any body have tips to keep him lasting the day without going "Well, I've woken up what will i do now? Ah! I know! I'll eat/sleep again/wait foor MORE food/anoy the pigs on the other side of the cage." Nothing too complicated- im only 11!

He should have a fresh source of fruits and veggies a day not once a week. Do you go by the serving size on the bag? Usually its 1/8 cup per 2lbs of Guinea pig. Read this link (click on it) and scroll down to where you see guinea pigs www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=PRINT&A=686

Oh my god, know wonder why he isn't moving. Two nice hanfuls a DAY, not a peice of fruit a week.. and yes, you should fill up his bowl if he doesn't have any pellets! He probably isn't getting enough vitamin C.. please take care of you pet. He depends on you.

Pssc, we are trying to help you. We care about your pig. Don't post if you don't want advice!
How experienced with cavies was the vet you took him to? If he never moves, I'd be concerned that he is sick - perhaps there's something going on that the vet missed. Just because he's overweight is no reason for him not to run around a bit. Even heavily pregnant sows will still run around and popcorn.

Ah, so maybe the bumblefoot is making him uncomfortable! I hadn't thought of that. In that case I'd just let him rest, hopefully it will be healed soon and he'll be back to himself. Keep us posted!

Please get your pig to a vet or rodent specialist. If you have been feeding it enough then it is very ill. Of you have not it may have long term damage and need help. Please do not delay. If your piggy is lethargic and not eating it will starve. Please get it help.

Do you take your GP out of there cage if they don't have floor time how can they get exercise? And also how big is your cage? It could be too small for them and that's why they don't move they don't have space to move. GP are not like hamster neither remember that they will move when you give them the oportunity if they don't have it they will sit and sleep all day they need something new and fun to do just like you do.

the cage is 2m x 2m and when the sun is out they get to go to "The Penthouse" (grazing hutch). His bumble foot is almost gone! He is popcorning again! I can just hear him squeaking "Wooh Hooh! i forgot what this felt like! I guess i wont need to squeak for MORE food because i'll have all this healthy piggie entertainment!" thanks for caring guys.
