To make the forums easier to read and quicker to load, can members please keep their signatures to a maximum of three lines of text - no images please!

Opps I've forgotton about this, I hope my tiny Christmas smilies are ok and don't slow things down. I imagine its the large banners etc that take much longer to download don't they. Any way let me know what you think Treen.

I switched computers yesterday and am not hooked up to cable again (yet) and what I noticed takes forever are the photos downloading ... everything else is "instant".

I find the google ad is the only think my connection pauses on. Not for long enough for me to want to pay to get rid of it though!
I'm not fussed about the odd smilie in signatures Jackie, so your little reindeer is safe (although does Santa know you've got him?!)! It is mainly the bigger images that cause the problem isn't it, but seeing as we don't have the option to turn off signatures, keeping it to one or two would be very much appreciated for those who find a gaggle of them a bit distressing!

proboards version four will be out soon, and there'll be an option to turn off sigs ;D That jumping smilie is very annoying  |

Aww don't worry Beth, can you see my real name at the bottom of each of my posts? Well thats what you can do for a signiture or like Treen has, post a very small image like Fred, one of Treen's piggies. If you go to your profile, which you can find under the Wheekers banner, its a a dark brown and white piggy thats next to the word profile. Just click on him, then scroll down and you'll see an option for your signiture. We've decided to keep a limit on the actually images, because if they are too big, it slows the forum down. When I have more time, I'll make you two little icons of your piggies for you, like Treen's Fred, but in your piggies colours . I'll do my best anyway I still need to master getting any markings right. The little piggies are fine because they are very tiny. You can also add a little saying/qoute, but its best if its not longer than three lines. Let me know if you need any help  |
