OK, English person being incredibly thick... so how many cents or dollars make a dime and how many make a quarter and do you still use the word buck?

Okay here goes: We have pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and half dollars in coins. (I know someone will say we have the Susan B. Anthony coin that is a dollar but everyone hates it and no one uses them)
100 pennies in one dollar (a buck) 100 cents 10 dimes in one dollar - a dime is 10 cents 20 nickels in one dollar - a nickel is 5 cents 4 quarters iin one dollar - a quarter is 25 cents 2 half dollars in one dollar - a half dollar is 50 cents

Cool ... the "teacher" will quiz you tomorrow.
Ummm ... read up on "half a buck": 50 cents = 2 quarters or 5 dimes or 10 nickles or 50 pennies.

Hmf that's funny.... ok I use pennies nickles and dimes and all that lot, but what do British use compaired to that? I mean don't they use pounds and guineas shillings and stuff? Or did they only use guineas and shillings a long time ago? I probably seem really ignorant right now
