Yes, but he sleeps all of the time. He woke up at 11:00pm and I played with him for a bit and then I heard a nosie this morning and realized that it was the wheel. Went out and turned the light on and then a few minutes later he retreated to his igloo and went to sleep. I have to keep handling him so he remains sweet ... but he's sleeping. Hmmmm.

The igloo is adorable Kathy, we'll have to buy Hammy one. Is he still sleeping a lot? Hammy wakes up around 8.30 pm, this week with having to get up early, he's a sleep at 5am now. So he's sleeping many hours.

Well, this guy sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. This morning it was 60 degrees in the room so I checked to make sure he was okay. I've seen him a couple of times and held him so he doesn't forget who I am. I added some more torn pieces of toilet paper to his igloo to keep him warm at night. Tonight he woke up at 10pm, got some water and food and then headed back. No clue when he's really awake. Maybe I'll find out this weekend. CC: I did write the guy back and offered to take the injured one and house him separately but I never heard back from him. Don't know if maybe he got another injury or not or if one of the guy's friends took him. He was the next sweetest one that he had.

He's doign fine so far. I have a thick blanket thing around his cage at night and will look inot the idea of a reptile heating pad. he is very sweet whihc is very nice. Never heard back from the guy. The hamsters were well taken care of and in large tanks but he had too many and he may not known to place them sooner. The female was a rescue and there's something wrong with her eye but the babies are fine. They are all satins and some have very beautiful long coats.

Checked out the reptile heating pad and they are not to be used with plastic or wood (they are used with reptile who are housed in glass tanks). Guess one could raise the palstic tub up and put it on a meatl rack of soem sort though.
S: The other hamster was bitten quite badly on his back by his cage mate. The fiur was all clumped around the area but it looks like the skin is actually okay and healing. I don't know if the clumped fur was the result of an abscess that burst.

The little hamster has a name ... Hamten ... name suggestion courtesy of Colleen who has a hamster named Spice and a couple of guinea pigs. Thanks Colleen!

Oh I love his name!! really suits him I imagine wounds from a hamster fight would be awful. Looking at them, they look so innocent, but its the same for guinea pigs as they can turn nasty to their own kind if its a territorial dispute etc , its natures way.

I was so excited last night ... I got to actually see Hamten! He decided to start his "day" early (10pm) so I interacted with him and cleaned his cage and took photos. I'll put some up but I have to delete a bunch from my albums or get more space first.
