Bean, I took this using the Creative Control setting in the LUMIX. On the round menu wheel, it's the painters pallet: This is without the effects: I had snow covered trees against a stormy sky, that I was trying to capture. With the effect, I really got the white against the dark grey.

Aww beautiful! They look especially stunning with the snowy backdrop - lucky you getting to watch them feed and play!

Time to bring this thread around again; here I am at the Badlands! (This is the National Park that dared to defy Trump's ban on global warming info!)

Great piccy Baz love, thank you for sharing. I have often wondered what the Badlands are, as mentioned in the song El Paso.

Excellent picture, and excellent park! I applaud those park rangers for refusing to be silenced.

I going to see if I can find an uploadable video of my trip to the Badlands somewhere; I'll put it in the appropriate thread if I do find it. In the meantime, here's the Garfield Park Conservatory near my home:

For the most part, the staff keeps it animal-free aside from a pond in one area that features a solitary axolotl. (There might be more, but every time I've gone there and viewed the pond, I only see one.) For those interested, this is an axolotl: search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&type=C111US105D20100803&p=axolotlThere's another pond that has several huge goldfish in it, does that count?

Ooh, that reminds me of scenery in the movie "The Lost World" movie, the old one, not Jurassic Park, though it could be some of Jurassic Park, too.

You do look super focused. Does it get easier after you've done it a few times, or is each time a different set of potential problems?

(wanted to answer last night, but computer crashed again) @bean, it was more cold than it was scary. But I'm not going to say I was totally fearless, either! Rushing about 50mph at a wall while dangling on a wire will get your heart rate going, though! 3piggles , I did find that it was getting just a little easier, this being my third time zipping. This course actually encouraged us to try some fancy tricks, such as running and jumping off the platform or going backwards! I wasn't quite ready to do any of that yet, but maybe next time! Several times I ended up twisting around and facing the wrong way, but each time I managed to reach up and get myself turned around in time. This would not happen in the Ohio course, because the instructors had us holding the trolley with one hand to keep us steady. I did what the instructors told me here, but mentioned it to them- they said it was an option, but people getting their gloves caught, so they discouraged the practice. The only real trick for me was adapting to yet a third method of ziplining. One air ranger commented that the oldest zipliner they had on the course was 75 years old! Another GIF of the action:

My stomach muscles ache on your behalf from watching that! It does look so exciting and I know if I did one like that, the adrenaline would be pumping through my veins - it looks like a real thrill! I'm going to have to look up where we can do it round here...!
How did your daughter enjoy it?!
